Velvet
...always reminds me of the theme song for Kids In The Hall by Shadowy Men.So what? Insignificant personal observations are kinda what the internet is for, right?

YearsAlongTheSea
Yeah, I can see that. The Daily Show is kind of like an American take on it though.
backbacon
I noticed something too:The Lays chips commercial that is playing these days - the one where it's sunny or something and maybe in a kitchen.. well the song sounds little like the catchy riff of Sisters Euclid's 'Domenic.' Anyone notice this?Oh, and I was listening to the Maple Leafs on the radio and they use 90210's theme song.
CatPhish
I was watching a They Might Be Giants doc. which said they wrote the Daily Show Theme Song. Edited April 7, 2006 by Guest
Jaimoe
Oh, and I was listening to the Maple Leafs on the radio and they use 90210's theme song. That makes soooo much sense considering the plethora of sweethearts on the Leafs.

bouche
this just brought up one of those things that I always am curious about.Although I haven't heard the Kids in the Hall theme in a couple of years, I was able to play it back in my head...note for note ... likely very close to the right key to compare it to the theme to the Daily show which is also in my head.I'm curious if that's the way it works for everyone? Jaimoe
I went to a taping of the Kids In The Hall Show at the old CBC studios on Mutual Street, very near Maple Leaf Gardens. Anyway, Shadowy Men played the theme live, along with all the other musical interlude bits. It really added to the flow and energy of the show. fluffhead77
"having an average weekend" (title of the Shadowy Men song) has got to be in my top 5 all time TV themes...just for fun...1)The A Team2)MASH3)Kids in the Hall4)Knight Rider5)Law and Order* - 1,4,5 were all written by Mike Post...80's tV theme GOD...also wrote Dallas, Dynasty, Airwolf, Miami Vice
Jaimoe
I like the theme for Cheers, Hill Street Blues, Mash, All In The Family, Miami Vice, WKRP (into and end themes), Blackaddar, Faulty Towers, Drew Carey and the BBC Office. Oh, the new Battlestar Galactica theme sets a perfect tone for the series. It seems the best series have some of the best themes.

It doesn't sound like them at all. This was easily researched on the internet. Here's more by John Flansburghand from John Linnell both of They Might Be Giants. They are also known for their version of the Bob Mould song "Dog on Fire" (the theme song to The Daily Show)' date=' and "Boss of Me", the theme to the hit television comedy Malcolm in the Middle, for which they won a Grammy Award.[/quote']

Jaimoe
Minneapolis really had an exciting and influential music scene going on in the 80's. The Replacements, Husker Du and Prince were all kicking out the jams during the height of that decade.
