"MURAT 1993 RELEASED ON CD AND AS DOWNLOAD

We're pleased to announce the newest addition to the LivePhish.com catalog with the inclusion of 8/13/93 from the Murat Theatre in Indianapolis, IN. This must-hear show from a must-hear tour is as good as they get, and this is the first opportunity in nearly fourteen years to hear the whole show in full, crisp, beautifully re-mastered soundboard audio. An added bonus is this landmark show's availability on CD (exclusively at LivePhish.com) with filler from the soundcheck. It's been a long time coming, but it's never sounded better. While it's true the Murat show is capped by the pure unbridled majesty of Bathtub Gin and Mike's Song, the whole show is worthy of strong recognition."

MURAT GIN!!!!!!!

i think the fact that a show is picked out of hundreds or thousands or however many shows to be sold as a livephish release is convincing enough personally....especially when it's a retrospective choice, rather than a "we haven't put an album out in a few years but need to keep attention on our tour" choice like some bands live releases.

What she said.

Let's face it, this isn't like the Grateful Dead vault, where Latvala (and later Lemieux) found all kinds of hidden and previously-unknown gems - Phish existed in an era when taping and digital technology were already widespread. As a result, there are bound to be copies of nearly all of the shows (with the exception of the very earliest stuff) floating around out there. The best Phish can really do is to offer the best-sounding versions they can of noteworthy shows. The Murat show is one of the most legendary in Phish history, so it's pretty hard to argue with the choice.
