Clapton tonight @ Molson Amph.

We were/are thinking of going. Lots of tickets floating around. Even TicketMaster had good 202 seats available this morning.

That said, the ticket prices are obscene. I'm thinking $30 at the venue should get you a lawn ticket from a scalper.

Hey KK, can you report back to Booche and I to confirm our suspicions that Robert Randolph is on the decline musically?

I remember that the last time I saw him I was not nearly as impressed as those first couple of gigs I saw him at. It was the same thing, and not as good. I've passed on his last couple of trips through town. I can't see him translating well in a big amphitheater as an opener though. We may even hold off going in until closer to EC's start :)

I betcha anyone who goes down tonight gets in on the cheap for sure!

Read some very positive reviews of his opening few shows on this tour. He's playing for around 2hrs20mins!!! Take a read and you might think about heading down tonight:

I think that a smaller festival stage, club, or church would be the ideal place to catch Randolph. Sacred Steel is really powerful and I just don't find it works as well in larger settings. Have you seen the first Bonarroo DVD? No Randolph but another killer gospel/sacred steel group rips it up in one of the tent stages.

Can't miss Slowhand though.

Absolutely not. Stapes and I caught the tail end of his set at Langerado and aside from the content (preachy) he was fucking smokin'.
