  1. Well when they first started to slow the throttle I got pissed off and switched to ultra-light because I wasn't going to pay for really fast internet if I couldn't use it. Before you say anything at the time Rogers was the only game in town so I didn't have any choice over my internet provider. Near the end of last year I noticed my speeds all of a sudden increased a little more then double and that's also when the traffic shaping stopped. Never complained or mentioned anything. With my connection before they started charging for going over 60gigs a month which just started I was using anywhere from 80-100gigs of bandwidth each and every month. For the record I download mostly from bt.etree.org so it's almost all legal. Right now I downloading the Wall Of Sound torrents which collect almost every known 1974 source together.
  2. You wouldn't have seen any tapers because Ricky Skaggs is anti-taping. I'm pretty sure that there were some stealth tapers there though so maybe it will show up on your favorite torrent site.
  3. No because the 2 women that book for the club are both very anti-taper. I will no longer go to shows there.
  4. I always thought the weirdest pairing was Jimi Hendrix opening for the Monkees.

    Merlefest

I don't think so, when you get there and see the schedule you'll realize that you'll have dozens of conflicts on what you want to see. I never could so all the stuff I wanted to. Remember that they have at least 10 stages, at least they did when I was last there almost 10 years ago so I'm sure that they've only grown bigger.
  6. Did Jerry really have any influence on bluegrass music today? I've always thought that bluegrass influenced Jerry's music not the other way around.
  7. I didn't realize mkw files could also be video files. In my experience they are audio files just like shn's.

    Summer rumours

That was back in what '97? They didn't sell many advance tickets but they did manage to almost completely sell the place out. They were slated to come back the following year back canceled it after poor advance ticket sales.
  9. Here's the pride of my card collection.
  10. The girl would have been Elisha Cuthbert I believe.
  11. I'll bet it's the Celine Dion's of the Canadian music scene that get the money and not the little acts. This would be my biggest beef with the proposal is that artists I don't give two sh*ts about will be getting my money.
  12. Is he not comparing HD to regular DVD's and not Blu-ray's?
  13. The selection is getting down there but the other day I still managed to snag 40 discs that I didn't have.
  14. Thanks for the help I'll check priceline out. $58 is reasonable I guess but I really don't want to spend $89 a night for myself.
  15. Just wondering what my options were for cheap places to stay in Ottawa when I come up to see Nero in January. The cheaper the better. Thanks
  16. I've been on Synthroid since it was discovered that my thyriod had shut down and yes once they find the proper dosage you will feel completely normal again.
  17. 1. We're Only In It For The Money 2. You Are What You Is 3. One Size Fits All 4. Fillmore East, June 1971 5. Civilization Phaze III
  18. Misplaced, very rarely but it happens. Lost though, never.
  19. I have burned discs that are 10 years old and still work but I have had some start to go bad in as little as 6 months. I use only Plextors to burn discs and NEVER EVER at their max speeds and I NEVER have any other applications running when burning. I also use only the best possible discs money can buy, at first those were Kodaks, then Japanese Fuji's and now regular Ty's. All my discs are very well taken care of, only handled by the edges, always keep in sleeves or cases and not left sitting around. I do not travel with them so they never sit in a hot/cold car (that's what the cheap discs are for).
  20. I have well over 1000 cd's and have never lost a single disc. Some of us know how to take care of our things and not lose them.
  21. What he said. I've found that the shelf life of a burned cd is generally several years and sometimes as little as 6 months before you start to encounter problems. The shelf life of a commercially burned cd is longer then I'll be alive so that way I don't need to worry about making multiple copies of everything, just to keep from losing it. Some of us don't own ipods either as we don't like inferior sound quality and do not bother with mp3's at all.
  22. I did this years ago. I was sleeping in one morning (about 10am) because I didn't have any classes at that time. A Jehovah's Witness came to the door with his approx 18 year old son. He rang the door-bell once, I ignored it. He rang the door-bell again, and again I ignored it. Then all of a sudden I hear ring-ring-ring-ring-ring-ring-ring, one right after another which just pushed me right over the edge. There is never any reason to do that when you are going door to door. I opened my window which was right above the front door and starting screaming every obscenity at them at the top of my lungs. They never came back after that and btw there was a kingdon hall located less then a kilometer away. They would hit all the other houses on the street at least once a week but would avoid mine like the plague. They come around here and I told them flat out do not EVER come to my door and they haven't been back since. This is the ONLY religion I hate and it's only because the bug the sh*t out of everyone at home for no good reason.
  23. ... or management not knowing how to cope.... You mean they aren't going to blame their crappy selection and high prices on their going out of business? Even before the internet craze I always disliked Musicworld.
