  1. Right. And there's absolutely no other possible reason in the entire world why the crime rate might have dropped, so therefore it *must* have been the presence of meditating Buddhists.

  3. What you're saying makes perfect sense, but the article specifically says "Beatles' Sgt. Pepper's Tops List Of 200 Most Influential Albums"... so they should either change the title or change the criteria.
  4. I've heard it, but not since I was about six or so. My mom used to have it on 8-track when I was a wee one.
  5. It's also interesting that of all the possible Santana albums, they listed Supernatural in the top 20. Because, um, it sucked. And also, if you're talking about "influential" I think Abraxas would be more suitable to that slot, even if Supernatural was a bigger seller.
  6. What with all of the great drugs they were imbibing, do you think any of them will remember what they did or didn't give up forty years ago?
  7. Hey Steve, sorry to hear about Ziggy. He's a great dog, and I'll really miss seeing him when I come by your place. He's one of the best doggies I've ever known!
  8. Tom Waits, Orphans. Um... can I just say that this is fucking unbelievably good? It's mindbogglingly amazing that one artist's *cast-offs* can be this good. Jesus fuck.
  9. Simply debating this point at all makes you a "trekkie".
  10. I believe the proper term is "transgendered person" not "the he/she".
  11. Japanese ignorance is especially stupefying when compared to how well most Germans are educated regarding their own past war crimes.
  12. John Mayall, John Mayall's Blues Breakers with Eric Clapton

  16. Sweet deal! After last night's game losing all the faceoffs (and being 28th in the league) this is a great deal. Welcome back Yanic I dunno. Looks like a play-off push rather than long-term thinking. The Leafs should be thinking about goaltending before anything else. Instead, they're giving up a talented defenceman and, more importantly, a second-round draft pick for an aged veteran who may not be around for more than a year, all in the unlikely hopes of making the play-offs. How many centres do they need? Sundin, Stajan, Wellwood, Greene, Peca, Pohl, Perrault? I know that Stajan and Pohl are equally useful on the wings, but really - with post-season chances so dim, why give up a young prospect for a journeyman, especially when you might need Bell down the road when they ditch McCabe and Kubina and Colliacovo has his twentieth injury?
