  1. I've been curious about this too over the years. I think Neil's brother (Bob?) owns and/or runs it. The Sadies are playing a show in Omeemee sometime soon that is a fundraiser for this museum.
  2. Nice one Snarf! Hope all is well.. SOunds like it is!
  3. I am hoping the NYE @ Horseshoe tradition continues this year.. That's where I plan to be.
  4. Perhaps the most interesting revelation in this interview: The Sadies have recorded a tune with Neil Young and Garth Hudson, to be part of the The Band tribute that Garth has been working on. :rainbow:
  5. Right over here: http://www.timessquare.com/Music_&_Clubs/Music_Interviews/The_Sadies_an_interview_with_Dallas_Good/
  6. Why not? They seem to do the odd random show in Toronto.. I'm not familiar with the other two bands.
  7. Hey y'all! Just spotted this in the NOW listings: Lightsweetcrude Days of You Orange Fuzz @ Smiling Buddha doors 10 pm 416-516-2531

    Treme

    YES! Thanks Kev!
  9. Helix's single of "(Make Me Do) Anything You Want" was better and way more top than A Foot In Coldwater's. The rest seems fine. A Foot's original made it into Canada's Top 25 whereas Helix's only reached #44 on the Canuck charts. Both sound similar. Haaha. Fine' date=' but only if chart ratings are included in the criteria for "better" and "top". [/quote'] I'm assuming chart has to weigh in with this dude's criteria. Anyway, neither band made much of a splash outside of Canada. Actually, Helix's album "Long Way To Heaven" was the top selling album in Sweden for the year of 1985.

  12. Any detail on the criteria used for this list? Hard to criticize anything on it without knowing what he means by "top"!
  13. I bought this one from Future Shop online about two weeks ago: http://www.futureshop.ca/en-CA/product/seagate-seagate-freeagent-goflex-1tb-external-desktop-hard-drive-staa500102-black-stac1000100/10146163.aspx?path=39913795a270ef19c541d1ed41e1ee67en02 I think it was on sale for $90 at the time. So far, so good!
  14. Wasn't AD the one who created the Canadian Phish Traders Network circa 1997?
  15. Just noticed a little something on the ol' Facebook. Hope you have a good day AD!

    NUIT BLANCHE

I've been once before and found it easiest to just keep walking (or biking) without too much of a plan. Here's another free event happening that night: A late-night multi-media celebration of global culture to coincide with Nuit Blanche features a fusion of music, dance, and visuals that will unite exterior and interior bringing Queen Street passersby into the action. The evening starts with the final performance of Water by Sashar Zarif Dance Theater at 8:00 (running at The Theatre Centre, September 23 – October 2 - $18 - 22, call 416.538.0988) . Inspired by Sufi and Shamanic dance rituals of Near and Central Asia, Sashar's latest choreography uses water as the symbol to explore the theme of identity. As the evening proceeds, video links will broadcast the live music and dance to the street featuring globally-minded artists such as Nobang Persian Ensemble with Pirouz Yousefian, Zelma Badu, Parahuman Dance Theatre and Dave Wilson, DJ 'medicineman' Don St Clair, Mahla Ghasempoor and Hasti Mirhadi.
  17. That last video is kick ASS!

    Van Dyke Parks

I just won tickets to see Van Dyke Parks this Wednesday at The Music Gallery in Toronto! Won the tickets through the excellent Toronto music blog ChromeWaves.net and am looking forward to this based on my quick read-up of Parks.... Though admittedly I am not familiar with his name (let alone work) until now. Anyone else out there seen him perform before? http://vandykeparks.com/
  19. The crawl was great! Did a little walk-around during the day in time to catch the first few songs of Young Rival's (surprise) set at 5pm or so.. Then we were whisked away to the Tiger Cats game which was a solid game despite the heartbreaking finish. Then back to the Crawl for Elliot Brood who were great! Then it is a blur of bars, warehouses, apartments, people, drinks and yet another 4am Last Waltz celebration.
  20. I still haven't gotten the chance to give this a listen! Neil and Daniel will both be on Q with Jian Gomeshi (sp?) tomorrow morning on CBC Radio 1, FYI.
