  1. n00b question: What airport? Los Angeles? I'm not seeing deals this cheap for Ottawa > LA right now... More like $215-$230 each way before taxes.
  2. Was there a noticable amount of boozed up stragglers from the game showing up at the Festival? Tiger Cats winning just around the corner + Wilcox + Kim Mitchell ... sounds like a magical night in the Hammer! Wish I could've been there. Pretty sweet Kim played Battle Scar too!
  3. Set One * Down With Disease * Ocelot * Pebbles And Marbles * Possum * Sleep * Destiny Unbound * Stash * Sneakin' Sally Through The Alley > * Cavern Set Two * The Moma Dance > * Light > * Taste * Fluffhead * Joy * Bathtub Gin > * Harry Hood Encore * Slave To The Traffic Light Every time I take a peek at latest the setlist from this tour, I'm amazed by what I see! Is that the first Destiny Unbound since the comeback? Damnit I wish I was still going to Darien.
  4. Nope, never heard of em, but that blurb well-written blurb, the food menu, cheap beer and venue name all has be intrigued
  5. Woah damn! Can't believe I didn't know about it til now. I guess I did miss this week's Xpress mag and all.. I'm maybe in.

  7. I really don't know shit about hip hop especially anything within the past 5 years BUT!!! I've been listening to the J Dilla album "Donuts" a lot lately. You'd like it Luke! (I bet you already have it though).

Some performances of interest are Willie Nelson and Leon Russell live at the Capitol Theater on April 1, 1979, The Highwaymen in Stockholm in March of 1992 and Townes Van Zandt at the Down Home on April 14, 1985. If you dig live show recordings, this is the site for you." http://ozzybeef.wordpress.com/
  12. http://www.buzzgrinder.com/2009/big-surprise-tour-creates-awesome-old-timey-lineup/ Big Surprise Tour Creates Awesome Old Timey Lineup The Big Surprise Tour was just announced today, and boy does it pack a wallop! In addition to my longtime favorites (fanboy since 2001, so eat that other people) Old Crow Medicine Show, the tour features the Dave Rawlings Machine with Gillian Welch, the Felice Brothers and Justin Townes Earle. But wait — it gets even more old-timey! Everyone will be on stage simultaneously, “taking part in each other’s songs, resurrecting old standards and playing newly written collaborative material as they go.†I can’t wait to get my twang on! 08/04 | Hampton Beach, NH | Casino Ballroom 08/05 | Boston, MA | House Of Blues 08/06 | New York, NY | Beacon Theatre 08/07 | Philadelphia, PA | Electric Factory 08/09 | Charlottesville, VA | Charlottesville Pavilion 08/10 | Cary, NC | Koka Booth Amphitheatre 08/12 | Louisville, KY | Waterfront Park 08/13 | Nashville, TN | Riverfront Park 08/14 | Knoxville, TN | World’s Fair Park

    Festival 8

Poopie- $150 for how many nights in a hotel? And isn't this a camping-out festival? Or is that a night in a hotel on each end of the fest? ps - I'm impressed by the Elsinore reference!

    Festival 8

Woah! I had no idea this news was coming. Have there been threads on this before this one? (Besides the Price Basher one?) Man I'm outta the loop. How much are flights to this place from MTL / Toronto (approx)?
  17. why yes' date=' israel & new breed did a little tease of 'can't stop' [/quote'] LIVE did the same (I swear I was just walking by though!) I was only there Wed, Thurs and Sat.. My highlights: - KISS - The Low Anthem - Drive By Truckers
  18. I sighted a lot of youz yesterday, NewRider included! Great crew at the DBT show.
  19. How was Blue Rodeo last night? Lookin forward to seeing some of youz down there today! ps - anyone got any extras??
  20. I thought I heard NewRider is in town.. Now there's good reason for a sighting thread.
  21. I brought a small bottle of vodka in last night by putting it in my hoodie.. Its really easy to get by security at Bluesfest from what I've seen; don't worry!
  22. BUSTED! It's true. Good to see the crew, though I still have a tough time keeping who's who straight.. Blame the booze and late nights and what-have-you that have been involved in 99% of the instances that we've met!
  23. I paid $20 last night.. And hoping to pay $20 for each day of the remainder of the fest (still looking for tix btw).
  24. I cruised down on my bike to scope things out and potentially sneak in. Ended up scoring an extra off someone for $20 right by the ticket outlet and I was on my way in. I'm with you Ollie, I thought the KISS show was epic through and through. I ate up the entire spectacle -- lights, massive screens, the elevating stages, the fireworks, pyrotechnics, fake blood, Paul Stanley floating over the crowd, Paul Stanley repeatedly yelling "OTTAWAAA! OTTAWAAA!", the ROCK! The crowd was great as well. I'd say averaged out the crowd had a good 6 beers into it and a good buzz going on. Loved all the painted faces. It exceeded my expectations by FAR! Looking forward to tonight.. I'll be at Sharon Jones but sad to think that I'll be missing Les Claypool.
  25. In Uganda they sell little 1.5 ounce plastic packets of gin, similar in look to a vinegar packet. We called the GINEGAR packs and they were a god-send! You could sneak them in anywhere.
