  1. This is workign for me too.. $65 bucks though, ouch!!
  2. I'm still on the look-out for tickets (2) for July 16, 17, 18, 19.. That's Thurs-Sun. edit: Also wouldn't mind going on Wed July 15 (tomorrow) as well!
  3. About 4 summers ago, last time I was living in Ptbo, Slips & The High Fives would play once a week in the Underdog (basement of the Red Dog) and it turned into the best party in town. Good time funk cover tunes.

  5. I'm still on the look-out for tickets (2) for July 16, 17, 18, 19.
  6. VERY entertaining show, I had to laugh at how little George himself can perform! It's almost like he doesn't need to do too much; he can get everyone going just by flapping his arms around once or twice. A little heavy on the wailing distorted guitar solos and light on the synths. THey had 5-6 guitars going at once (although you could really only hear the lead flying V). Anyhoo, it was fun to see. I was hoping that one guy's makeshift towel-diaper would fall off. Anyone know who from the current band has been in the band for a long time?
  7. Sweet gig! My knowledge on energy, sustainability theory, etc just isn't there though.. And lack of policy experience. DIdn't know IISD had an office in Ottawa!
  8. Thanks for the tips! What are they selling? Tall boys? And what other flavours?
  9. How were the Black Keys?
  10. HEading to a wedding this weekend and I'm on the lookout for a place to buy some nice pottery for gifts.. Kitchen type stuff. Anyone have any leads or know of any stores?? Thanks, you guys know EVERYTHING!
  11. I am a fan! Not every single tune but some real gems and a good album on the whole. Been playing it quite often. The Hip have paid there dues man, even if you're not a fan they deserve props from one and all if you ask me. The show in Wiarton last Saturday was good, Gord Downie is a whack job and I love it. The concert set up on the other hand sucked balls --- getting a beer was NOT possible, not cool at all! (The lineup to get into the beer tent was 1.5 hours long). Was bummed that The Spades were the first band and I missed their set! Arkells did a good job though, and I missed Sam Roberts. Thanks Chris Wylde for the accom hookups and otherwise! (Sorry for the complete topic hijack.. great album!)
  12. Just had a look... So are wristbands $10 or $12? Anyway looks like one of these $10 or $12 wristbands gets you into all of the clubs on the day that you buy it.. Which is a great deal! Can we get wristbands ahead of time? Exceptions: Peter Murphy $15.00 buy tickets here (includes Ad-ver-sary) Great Lake Swimmers $15.00 buy tickets here (includes Basia Bulat) Matt Mays $22.50 buy tickets here (includes Dean Lickyer) Wintersleep $22.50 buy tickets here (includes Mother's Children) Jokers of the Scene $12.00 (includes Flosstradamus)
  13. Have they announced the headliner for the final Saturday night yet??
  14. I'm also looking for two weekend passes for the final weekend.
  15. I'm looking for two for Thurs July 16th!
  16. Saw them for free last Saturday at the Dragon Boat Festival in Ottawa.. Good tunes as per usual, worth going to any time.
  17. Thanks y'all! I celebrated at WHALESBONE on Bank St.. Amazing. Vaction starts tonight. Heading to the Hammer tonight, Wiarton tomorrow for The Hip + other bands, then up to North Bay area for a few days at a cottage, then to the Hammer for a stag and then the game vs. the Argos, then sticking around for my friend's wedding. Good times!
  18. Anyone know the order of the bands, or better yet, the set times? Don't want to miss The Spades..
  19. I had a pulled pork sandwich yesterday from.... Hmm.. Area 31? Something like that? I guess saying "the one that came in 1st last year" doesn't help because they all claim to have come in first last year. Its on the block west of O'Connor, the stand in the middle (there were three). Anyways the sandwich was amazing, and MASSIVE for $6. I just barely finished it. Two thumbs up.
  20. My first show as well! 10/19/96 stands out for me as one of those key dates in my teenage years, the day I was hooked and when everything changed! I'm completely biased but I've always thought this show was overlooked. (A show that NEVER gets mentioned, part of a tour that basically never gets mentioned aside from the Vegas show). I can hum along note for note! Anyways the DWD here is probably the highlight. Its pretty short but its tight and peaks well. The Slave is good too. Check it out!
