What I had in mind was the one song (or one of a few songs) that the general music-listening public automatically thinks of when a given artist is mentioned - even though, often times, these songs are anomalies in the artist's deeper catalogue. I used "No Rain" as an example because it is the only Blind Melon song that *most* people are familiar with, yet it doesn't sound like most of the rest of their catalogue.

  5. I was at Coventry, with shit on my feet and piss in my ears. That said, it wasn't all bad, and I'm glad I was there for the end (or at least what is presently known as the end). I'm looking forward to someday telling my kids about having to "walk ten miles through the mud to get to rock and roll shows back when I was your age. We didn't have no fancy hovering crafts, neither."

I don't have a full setlist, since I'm not familiar with enough of their entire repertoire, but here (from memory and in rough order) are the ones I know for sure we heard: Rambler's Anthem If There's still Ramblin in the Rambler (Let him Go) Hit Parade of Love If Loving You is Killing Me Jesus on the Mainline Red Bird (this was the first encore, I believe) It was a two-set show, with a two-song encore. They were tuning up for more when the venue told them they had to stop.
  15. If last night's Montreal show was any indication, y'all are in for a hell of a time on Thursday night.
  16. Hot DAMN what a show. Super intimate venue with a small but supportive crowd. Having the band play the last few tunes of the night unplugged was a real treat, and you could tell that they were really diggin' their first trip to the Great White North. I'll try and get a full review up today, but suffice it to say that if you're at all on the fence about Toronto, you'd be crazy not to hit these guys while they're around.
  17. I think he has learned from Jerry's mistakes. He did, after all, choose to break the band up before it got so big that he couldn't (which was one of Jerry's big problems) and he thanked his arresting officer and readily sought treatment when he got busted.
  18. WOO HOO! Day of show bump. It's a beautiful sunny day in the Adirondack Mountains - perfect for a tune-infused road-trip to la Belle Province for some rippin' bluegrass.
  19. I'm not entirely sure I'll be there, but with no work for me on Tuesday and a late start on Wednesday, the two-hour drive isn't much of a factor. I've seen some killer bluegrass so far this summer, and I think a little Yonder might make a nice addition to the mix. Who's in?
