  1. have a squeezebox too. no complaints. really easy and intuitive operation too. given all the current options, though, might want to consider the MacTV box, since it does video as well as audio.
  2. caught them last night at Lee's Palace in trawna. was a really fun show. packed house. for those who dont know of them, i'd describe them as 1979 Clash meets 1982 Depeche Mode in 2007 Montreal. just dan boeckner and (now) wife alexei perry, he plays guitars and sings and she turns on beats and keys. really cool stuff. two more dates: DEC 21: London, ON @ Call the Office DEC 22: Guelph, ON @ Jimmy Jazz they took stage at 10:35 and were done by 11:40. short and sweet. they opened for arcade fire at the massey hall shows this year, and boeckner is also in wolf parade.

  6. i would have figured it would be easy found at radio shack, but if they havent heard of it, they havent heard of it. the only other thing i can suggest is to call (go to) a small, local, higher end stereo shoppe and ask them. the pad is a very common audio device (well, it thot it was) what are you using it for, backbacon?

  9. it's beautiful here in guelph. everything is so white and fresh. a good foot of light and fluffy snow. i just spent an hour shovelling in only a light fleece and actually quite enjoyed being outside. very refreshing! our dog helped for a bit, but got bored and headed inside to watch from the front window.
  10. ive had caa for years as well. used to use it for maps and stuff a lot more in the past. many a dead or phish tour started out with a trip to caa. mapquest has replaced triptiks for me. still have it, tho', you know, just in case. i also appreciate their lobbying efforts to make roads safer for all of us. they've been calling for a ban on cellphones while driving for years now.
  11. they blew me away when i caught them at new orleans jazzfest in 05. have seen them a few times now. awesome is right.
  12. whenever someone uses the word "significant" at work, I always have to ask them exactly what they mean by it. im also not big on the word "clearly" here because most things aren't. but my alltime favourite word to hate is "effect" when misused as a verb.
  13. Elf's built it and they now live inside the walls.
