  1. So which one do you like the most? I'm sort of hooked on Chrome, but i wish I could see thumbnails of my tabs like in opera, and i wish i could tile my windows like in Opera... ...but the simplicity is great. Onto the new safari... ugh.
  2. I'm suprised this is a new thing...but to be fair, I'm not entirely disappointed. We need to have progression in its due time, eh?
  3. So are you impressed that there's lots of clever DIY solutions to high-scale narcotics exporting, or are you just commenting on the water-cooling? Too bad cocaine is ruining the coca plant for the indigenous peoples all over south america. Wish we could get the leaves here. They'd be way better than chewing gum.
  4. Hopefully he won't screw it up for us in the coming months. As much as i don't agree with his politics, I can't quite say that he has it in for Canada. I do hope his plans work out for us...whatever they are.
  5. One of those shows that's so painful to watch... wow.
  6. the NCR or the City of Ottawa? Grenville and Lanark Counties are just beside the city proper and some would consider that to be the National Capital Region too. (it takes me about the same amount of time to get downtown from the country than it's taken me to get across the city)
  7. Thanks for pussing me out in the safety of my own home. Heal up, TF.
  8. I will not be the chauffeur... ...in case anyone was worried I was driving buses. eek.

    OTTAWA!

Fun at the urban dictionary... beer spears A drinking game originating in Gloucester Ontario. The premise is to tape a can of beer to one's hand and consume. Then tape another atop it and consume that one. This continues until a huge spear like weapon is fashioned out of cans and the participants fight eachother. Optional: make shields out of boxes! Beer spears is the best form of intoxicated fighting!
  10. I got past the racial slurs, though it was frustrating to have to. Her humour isn't making fun pf people based on their race, it seemed to me to be making fun of not only the slurs and stereotypes themselves but our reactions and sensitivities surrounding them. Too bad she didn't do it in a more clever way. If it wasn't a waste of time for the playing on our society's racism ot was a waste of time because she wasn't really all that funny about it. Loads of potential with that approach to humour. few people can actualize it. I'm kind of glad that it rarely happens. It'd be amazing if an Italian American wwould ever be able to pull it off, cause that goomba sure couldn't.
  11. Not anarchy - a better use of an expensive visit. Say one were to have neighbours with the last name Ness. If you went to their home you would say 'Nesses' but you would write Ness' In this case though, the literal translation of U.S. (United States) doesn't really work with 'President' after, so 'U.S. President' - while generally accepted, isn't really the best way to say it anyway, even though that's how a broadcaster may write it in his/her news story. we know it's Obama, even if they forget to make a verbal note of posession. We're smart enough to know what they mean. Could be better form.
  12. I'm glad that you know it's only temporary. Miss you lots, Jesse.
  13. Holy crap. Online Karaoke. wow.
  14. What a great way to waste money in a global recession. He should have addressed Parliament and said something outside at the hill. There WERE snipers... The 45 minute press conference was nice but didn't really say much of anything - not that we can expect that from Governments and their leaders these days anyway - but it'd be nice to be proven wrong about these kids of things again and again (which unfortunately doesn't happen). I can't expect much from a first visit, but it's not much of a stretch to presume that Obama would like to make the best use of Canadian labour, ingenuity, and energy to keep the USA running smoothly. Lots of nice, reassurances and positve direction in the press conference though...worth the millions spent on the visit? Parliament needed that pep talk more than the general public. If he's such a great orator he should have been asked to share his gift with MP's that sorely need the skill. And what's with everyone calling him 'the U.S. President'...the United States President? While we know what they mean, the phrase itself makes no sense. They're missing an apostrophe. "The U.S.' (You-Esses) President", "the American President", "President of the U.S.A.", or "America's President"...I heard 'the US president' too many times on the radio yesterday - and I was listening to the CBC. What happened? I was taught that a higher education was a prerequisite to work at the CBC.
  15. I'm so glad people have something to be so happy about on the news, in politics. It'll be our own demise if we're not careful. I thought it would be wise to try to get to the east end of downtown through the city... shoulda taken the queensway.
  16. Luck? You don't need luck. You're gonna see better in no time. Enjoy your newfound sight.
  17. Yesterday I got up, anticipating a day on the road. The sun was shining and I didn't know if Northern Wish was going to want to get going early or want to get to Syracuse just after dark. Not wanting to blow up my expectations, I went for a walk and lounged out for awhile waiting for him to arrive. We get on the road, sail through the border and onto Syracuse a few quick hours later. Hotel, Pizza, Drinks, and onto the show. After getting turned around the wrong way from hotel staff directions, we got a local to point us the right way. http://www.thewestcotttheater.com/ Nice open room, open sightlines, great staff, $3 beer. It was a mellow Sunday night crowd, lots of dancing room for a bunch of hapy music fans. My first time seeing this band was great. One long set, the band beaming onstage the whole time. I was talking at one point of the night about favourite covers and I'm glad to be able to add another one to the list. You should be Dancing - (the Bee Gees) What a super treat for a guy that's been out a handful of times in the past year. If you get a chance to see this band, I entirely recommend it. www.cornmealinthekitchen.com
