  1. Brad, I'd seriously go down to Just HiFi and pick the salesmen's brains before you buy. They are real TV experts and the store doesn't sell junk.
  2. I believe Cheap Trick's original lineup is still intact and they tour regularly. Rick Nelson is a great guitarist, Cheap Trick all the way.
  3. Devastating news and a great bright light lost to the world. Stay strong Brian. I'll be there next week.

    Thanksgiving?

Given the history surrounding Thanksgiving, the US should be the only country to celebrate the holiday. I believe onlyu Canada and the US celebrate the day.
  5. Too bad, but for me this SOLD OUT show blows the rest out of the water: Edward Sharpe and the Magnetic Zeroes @ the Mod Club, December 3rd. I've come to the realization that BSS just don't do it for me. I don't like their new album at all either, except for the single.
  6. I think it's at 3pm on Saturday. If so, I think I want the tix. Thanks Jules (once again)!
  7. He made only $500 Gs this season. Sad thing is he still won't win the Lou Marsh Award.
  8. ? They played together on Orlando.
  9. It makes me nervous that you listen to Cheryl Miller. FYI, Stojakovic played for Sacramento from 1998-2006. He had decent seasons in New Orleans too. I know his career is in the decline, but he can help the Raptors and can be used as a bargaining chip at the July trade deadline. Orlando wanted to get rid of Turk; they tired of his off-court antics. We saw this for ourselves in Yorkville etc... Davis just started rehabbing in the D-League; he hasn't had much of a chance yet to tear it up (you used present tense, so I`m assuming you mean now - he did have a good summer league). Amir is a diamond in the rough, although they overpaid to keep him (a trend in Toronto non-Leafs pro sports). Weems was a great college player and he's finally playing with confidence. Both underachieving players with potential finally getting minutes. Heck, Reggie Evans has been great, which is a far cry from last year. I'm not in love with this team and remain a frustrated Raptors fan, but I'm optimistic about the development of some of the core players.
  10. The main difference between Stojakovic and Turkolu is that the former is a professioal and not a spoiled malcontent concerned about partying and staying out late. Also, Sacramento was a very good team during most of Stojakovic's tenure, and he was one of their best players. Are you comparing a fringe roll player with the Boston plus-30 stars? They were all great when they were 24 and younger. Bargnani was a mistake at #1 given Aldridge, who went #2, is a more complete player and has developed into a legitmate all-star. That same draft, Brandon Roy went #6 and Rondo @ #21. Still, if you had to do it over again and taking hindsight into account, Bargs would go at #3 (Adam Morrison went #3 at this draft).
  11. You should be underwhelmed by Colangelo, but this is a good trade. Stojakovic is on the decline, but he still is one of the best outside shooters in the league. His minutes were cut on New Orleans. Anyway, Banks wasn't playing with the Raps as it was, so who cares if he's gone? Andersen? He's 30 and a depth player. Davis is a high draft pick and a potential good to star player. You don't stick him on the bench when you most likely won't make the playoffs anyway. There's always free agents to sign. And next season is a hard-cap, which is not in place right now.
  12. You better hope Flutie is coming into the game soon.
  13. I like the trade. What exactly don't you like about the deal? Bayless is a similar player to Jack, but 5 years younger. Stojakovic can score and is a good bargaining chip in case they decide to deal at the trade deadline. Marcus Banks never plays and Andersen is a role player, which is all fine and dandy, but Ed Davis is almost ready to play and he'll need minutes. Keep in mind that the Raps have been undermanned for most games since Barbosa has been in and out of the lineup and Kleiza has had niggling injuries. Also, there's going to be a hard-cap in the NBA next season, and the Raps will be around $15 million under the cap. The trade looks good for both teams.
  14. What a beautiful pass to Cammalleri.
  15. I miss Chris very much.
  16. Love you Pat. Cancer is the worst and you battled the disease on several fronts. R.I.P. and fuck you to the hockey writers that did't vote you into the Hall.
  17. I find them my most disappointing band to emerge from the last decade. I was onboard with them when their first album was released in 2000 and saw them during their first Canadian tour and several more times before 2003. But every studio album they released since their great debut miss far more than they hit. Luther is a pretty weak songwriter and he's a pretty basic singer too. I like his guitar chops and the Allstars can be a very good live band depending on the set list. I think they should just stick to reworking/rediscovering old blues songs - and there's nothing wrong with that. Just ask John Hammond Jr. I know Luther was a guitar prodigy(and played on The Replacements awesome Please to Meeet Me album) and I also know who the late Jim Dickenson is. I believe I met you at the NMA show at Lee's a number of years ago; I believe it was for their Polaris tour.
  18. I'm not sure what the title is, but I want the ending to go exactly like this:
  19. Should be a good show. I hold no high expectations of the NMA though.
  20. No surprise: Halladay unanimously won the Cy Young today (only the 5th in MLB history to win it in both leagues). That is all. Carry on. USA Today story: http://content.usatoday.com/communities/dailypitch/post/2010/11/phillies-roy-halladay-the-clear-winner-of-the-nl-cy-young-award-/1

    ARGOS SUCK!

That was a fucking great game!
  22. I'm waiting for the NHL to also adopt the Swiss League rule where the leading scorer has to wear a golden helmet.

    ARGOS SUCK!

I'm loving seeing the CN Tower completely ablaze in Argos blue. You can see the glow from Hamilton.
