  1. I've heard Dylan himself say he's written many of his songs by taking old Carter family songs and then just start changing chords here and there. Plagirism is one thing but being influenced/inspired by others or something you've heard is completely different IMO. I can't imagine anything is completely authentic anymore.....it's usually derived through some outside influence.
  2. At our wedding we walked down the aisle to: Overgrown Waltz (Bela) Back up the aisle after being married to (like Schwa said); Revival (ABB) and I'm pretty sure our first dance song was; When You're Standing next to Me (Mitch and Mickey) followed by; What a Wonderful World (Louis Armstrong)
  3. Every Rose Has Its Thorn.......just to keep it real.
  4. I gots me no problem with Jesus.....it's his fan club I can't stand.
  5. Bill Kerr (Shelby and Johnny's dad) saw my wife, Mud and said, "Muddy, where's Blurry?". She told me when she got home - I laughed a lot then started using it.
  6. Voted as well - you guys were tied for 6th with 4% of the vote. Dakini in first with 17% - I'll keep voting if they let me.....hope everybody else does too! FWIW - I agree with Deeps about the band name(it's the poo-thing) That said, looking fwd to hearing the new album. Never seen you guys but have heard great things. And there's a small chance I might get out to see you guys at the house party tomorrow night!?
  7. Happy Day Edger! Hope you had a great one!
  8. I just ordered the record (I think?!). Ordering through Maplemusic was a bit confusing - it asked for my address and credit card twice (I don't understand that). I entered my address twice but missed the second credit card entry form before I hit enter. the next page said my order had been completed so here's hoping!?! I'm really looking fwd to hearing this. Congrats guys!
  9. I"m pretty sure the cost has actually gone down. I'm pretty sure they jumped from $100 to $200 at one point. Glad they've gone down a bit!

Mud and I went to Magfest a couple of October's ago. It's held at the same spot. It's a great place. I like the set-up just make sure you get a camping spot close to the stage (which is possible you just have to know you're way around) cause there are some spots which are pretty far from the stage too. Our friend's go to Wannee every year - they love it. From people I talked to - they said Wannee was a little dirtier but I didn't see one sketchy thing at Magfest so a "little" dirtier means that's its still probably really friendly. I suspect it'd be hot!
  11. I wish I wasn't on dial-up. It'd be so nice to have access to music. Congrats though localcrew! I look fwd to hearing at some point.
  12. I'd like to go to a Ramble too. A couple of xmas's ago I gave Mud the option of going to see Levon at a Ramble or going to see him at the Beacon in NYC. She chose the NYC gig - so that leaves me still itching for a Ramble. Later in the year sounds fine.
  13. What a wonderful, gentle person and loving light! Much love to you and your family!
  14. I won't be making it either but look fwd to hearing you guys when you move closer....and hopefully tour the area! Have fun!
  15. That's awesome! Well, seems like that weekend just got booked up for me.....too bad. Hope you guys have a great gig - and I hope you make it back before too long! Elemeno and Schwa - doesn't look like that weekend'll work but if you feel like coming up for the Ned Wreck and The Crops (Geomouse, Daveymouse) show on Jan 16- we'd love to have ya!
  16. Wow! Owen Sound - that's great! Jan 9 - Must Stash Hat jan 16 - Ned Wreck and the Crops That's two more shows then I went to in Owen Sound in 2009! Watch out 2010!
  17. Yup, this has a lot of great Xmas tunes on it! "Christmas Drinker" - Stumbleweed - is a great tune! I"m not sure if it's been "released" yet though. If they don't care - I can get it to you!
  18. That was a great night of music and a lot of fun seeing a bunch of folks from Memory Lane! I got there and the Fatties were just finishing up. The room was moving and everybody was shaking their shakers. I remember a Put Your Hands Down Easy>Groove is in the Heart>Put Your Hands (thought that's probably not the name of the tune!?). And then another tune I didn't recognize?! GDSS/Rory sounded great as usual. BNB came out and threw "The Bench" right in our face! Great choice for the opener! Got the ball rolling right away. The 2nd tune, I don't know the name of but it was a full blown rockin' monster space rager. Otherwise I remember a; - WICKED Permit Collector! - Number 7 - In the Belly - Morning Cold > Eminence Front (I'm assuming) > Morning Cold - Holes - Speedbump Man it was good to hear that BNB sound again. Sometimes it gets soooo heavy (in a good way) - I"m pretty sure I felt the bass in my liver most of the night. The only thing that I, and a bunch of people I talked to, thought was missing at this CanJam spectacular was Diesel Dog! I really hope they're included at the next one - they deserve it! Kudos to Jaydawg for putting this together - great night all around! Quote of the night: Floyd: "How about three more long drawn out quick ones?" ha ha!
  19. We're thinking of you, your mom and your family Karin. Hope everything goes well!
  20. Thinking more about old tunes. I'd love to hear any of these as well..... Moonshine Stop 28 Colleen Cabbage Soup And I know I said no covers but a Rockford Files or Torn 'N Frayed would admitedly rock my socks. And for the BNB obscure tune of the day; Dictionary Car Not saying I necessarily want to hear it but it popped into my head. I remember hearing this once around 2001 or so....I think in Guelph!?!?
  21. Any kidding aside - in terms of covers - I'd be completely happy with a full show of originals. Palace Moon Speedbump The Bench Permit Collector Number 7 Lost 'N Lonely Watching TV........would all do fine by me. So would anything else!
  22. Nice! *new poster* totally sweetened the deal. I'm in. As for covers. I want to hear you guys do a cover of a cover the Fat Cats would do. Doesn't matter which one. I second C-towns - PERMIT COLLECTOR. Did Zero win the BNB bio contest? Does he get to present it between bands at the show?
