I've been a couple times (though not in the last few years). You pay your money to get in, and from then on, you exchange tickets (you may be given some with your entrance fee; they're also available for purchase, at fifty cents [or so] per ticket) for samples at the various booths around the floor. Different samples will cost different numbers of tickets: some will be two tickets, some will be three, some will be a lot more than that. You can also get brochures and flyers and things from some of the booths. It can be a fun night, but can also be frustrating, as you usually can't actually buy (and walk away with) anything. If you find, say, a wine that you like, you will have to go track it down from the LCBO. (I've been to wine tasting nights put on by the LCBO, and they're a lot better, because they'll have an order desk, so you just keep track of which wines you want, place your order, wait a week or two, and pick it up at your local LCBO outlet.) If you've never been, definitely go; be prepared to spend more than the door fee, though. (And they also have a lot of different foods, too, so if you're not into wine, there's still lots to see/sample.) Aloha, Brad
