  1. It'd be more dope if he later backed it up with "proceeding the propellings" later on in the same song. Aloha, Brad
  2. If you mean nero 2004-12-11, yes, it was a fun one, and there weren't any other shows between it and the NYE 2004/2005 show. Aloha, Brad

    Nero

Yup, it was announced a couple of weeks ago. Aloha, Brad
  4. How does it taste when mixed with Red Bull? Aloha, Brad
  5. You're welcome; I missed TJH at Babylon, so I've been waiting/hoping for a gig of theirs I can make. The Ottawa XPress gig info lists Hylozoists + The John Henrys, but I don't know how up-to-date it is. Aloha, Brad
  6. It looks like The John Henrys recently updated their tour dates, and they now list the Oct. 7 show at Barrymore's with Hylozoists, even though the Barrymore's Oct. calendar (which used to list Hylozoists + TJH) shows "All Of Your Friends" as the (only) supporting act. Aloha, Brad

    Planet Earth

Was it 1/3 of the entire Earth's surface, or just 1/3 of the land area of the Earth, that's desert? (IIRC, 70% of the Earth is covered with ocean, so that doesn't even leave 1/3 of its surface for land, let alone desert + arable land.) Edit to add: Another thing to realize is that "desert" doesn't always mean sand dunes. Except for its coastal regions, Antarctica is considered a desert, for example, because it gets so little precipitation. Aloha, Brad

    T.O.

According to http://sportsillustrated.cnn.com/2006/football/nfl/09/27/owens.report/index.html?cnn=yes police reports say it was a suicide attempt. Aloha, Brad
  9. Booche, are you considering going to this? I've got enough vacation left this year to easily manage it, and I've never seen a show at The Opera House, so this is looming large on my fall schedule. Aloha, Brad
  10. Yup, due to issues with getting visas for the US. http://www.dose.ca/music/story.html?id=2a9c17ee-8f69-4ac8-88b5-53ae1b9f1314&k=92958 Aloha, Brad
  11. The Ottawa Sun review actually mentions Derek Trucks. Aloha, Brad
  12. Think Tiger Woods is good? He is, but Byron Nelson won 31 our 54 tournaments in 1944-1945, including 18 in one year, 11 of those back-to-back. His swing was so good and so consistent, machines to test golf clubs were based on it. The PGA tournament that bears his name has raised millions of dollars for inner-city at-risk youth. He died today; he was 94. http://www.cbc.ca/story/sports/national/2006/09/26/pga-nelson-obit.html Aloha, Brad
  13. I took this to the YouTube forum before anyone asked. This is what got me liking MMJ. Aloha, Brad
  14. Priceless. That was my show at King William Studios on Steven St. I rented the space from Bobby Hebert who fucked up the paper work for the special occasion permit' date=' ripped me off, and then tried to barricade the cops from coming in the venue. I pleaded with the police to let the show go on which they allowed, sans alcohol. The police told me some interesting things about Mr. Hebert that night. At least the boys got paid and they sure had fun with the powered wheelchairs. 03/23/01 - King William Studio Theatre - Hamilton, Ont I. Yellow Pants, Chevron... II. ...Chevron > Speedbump, Johnny Latoque, Stop 28, The Bench, Funkin' Shoes III. 50 Ways To Leave Your Lover, Permit Collector, Chank, Down With The Sound E. Rockford files NOTE: the 1st set was interrupted by the police because the club didn't have a liquor licence. The beginning of 2nd set they started playing a little Makisupa Policeman tuning while the cops came around and confiscated all the beer bottles and then they proceeded to pick up playing Chevron at the same point they had left off.[/quote'] http://www.archive.org/details/bnb2001-03-23.shnf Aloha, Brad
  15. So, does this mean I can order the Kung-Pow Chicken, with Chives? (Or maybe the Kung-Pow Beef with Chives?) Aloha, Brad
  16. This Thursday, Sept. 28, Toronto afro-funk band Mr. Something Something will be at Lula Lounge in Toronto as part of the Small World Music Festival. If it's anything like the Mr.SS shows I've seen in the past, this'll be an all-out dance-a-thon, with a stellar horn section, rock-solid rhythm section, and a captivating front man. If I were in Toronto on Thursday night, this is where I'd be. Aloha, Brad
  17. Buckethead 2006-09-15. At times, I can almost hear stuff that makes me re-think my lack of understanding for why Axl Rose hired him for G'n'R. Aloha, Brad
  18. Boxing match! Bashing match! Basher vs. Jaydawg! I wager 100 kwatloos on Basher. Aloha, Brad
  19. There's an ad in the bands section of the The Ottawa Musician website; scroll down to the Sept. 14 entries, and it reads: The Sept. 12 entries include one announcing the bar: Aloha, Brad
  20. Thanks, I figured as much. I was thinking the snag would be getting back to wherever I was staying after the show*, but it looks like the Queen streetcar runs far after last call, and Queen St. is one of the road on which the Blue Light buses/streetcars run, and in a total pinch, a cab from there to Yonge St. (or thereabouts) won't be exorbitant. Aloha, Brad * I've had to leave downtown shows early to get to the subway in time to catch the last train out to the East end when I'm staying with my family.
  21. Are there any decent hotels within walking distance of The Opera House? Their web page lists a Holiday Inn Express on Lombard St. as their preferred hotel, but it's closer to Yonge St. (which'd be too far a walk). Or would I be better getting something downtown and taking TTC and/or a cab to/from the venue? (None of the travel/hotel websites I know/use seem to let me enter an intersection and find hotels at/near it. ) Aloha, Brad
  22. I read what he writes. I read everything. Aloha, Brad
  23. Hmmmm...this may warrant a trip (with gear ) to T.O... Aloha, Brad
  24. I think this topic started by Velvet is the one you're looking for. Aloha, Brad
