Kanada Kev
I haven't been on one for a few years, but they are awesome. They've got some insane ones out there now. Has anyone ever been on this one in California?? X - the World's First "Xtreme" Coaster, at Six Flags Magic Mountain:

Calamity Jane
we bought a family season's pass to Montreal's LaRonde this year (it's now a Six Flags park and membership gives reciprocal entry to ALL Six Flags parks throughout the season...a pretty good deal, imo)Anyway, now that Six Flags has moved in, the old waterpark that I remembered has been dismantled BUT they've installed a gagillion HUGE roller coasters (okay, maybe only about 8) But they are wicked scary...especially the biggest one, called Goliath. I've lost my taste for coasters over the years, though, and riding them once, just to prove to my kids I'm only 88% chicken, is all I can manage. bouche
Is Canada's Wonderland still fun? Ms. Hux and I were thinking about hitting that up in October, but we thought about hitting up La Ronde as well so I am wondering what is more fun these days? I haven't been on a RC in many frikken years.
Calamity Jane
Mike, you should make an informed choice as per Wonderland vs La Ronde, so I think you need to know that at La Ronde (and all Six Flags, I believe) you can buy biere-en-fut (as well as Sangria) and drink openly ANYWHERE in the park....I guess American values are good for something at least! Blane
I honestly think that the last "real" rollercoaster I rode was at Darien Lake before the Phish show 10 years ago!
guigsy
rollercoasters + mushrooms are the way to go.superman at darien lake has been my favourite so far, but usually i like the old rickety ones the best.

Patchoulia
Basher and I went to Wonderland a couple of years ago on the last Saturday it was open for the season and we had a blast...despite my fear of heights and speed and basically everything that makes Wonderland fun. There's one ride there I loved so much I just kept getting off and getting back in line to go again. It was like a really great drug with the only side effect being an overwhelming sense of euphoria.
AD
Dragon Fire or whatever it's called, the really old one at Canada's Wonderland, that's my fav, and I'm scared of heights and rollercoasters. That one is fun. Anything more than that i am not sure I could handle.

Northern Wish
Agreed on Dragon Fyre. When you go through the gates of Wonderland, make a sharp right and its right by the teacups.....I'd be up for a trip to La Ronde sometime in late September or early October if others are heading down.Sean
AD
i just looked up the canada's wonderland roller coasters on wikipedia and all the names have changed from the old style spellings 'Dragon Fyre, Wilde Beaste' to stupid 'real' spellings 'Dragon Fire' Wild Beast'that is stupid. that is all. Basher
230 feet is okay, nothing like the 300ft and 420ft coasters at Cedar Point. The 85 degree angle of descent looks pretty awesome!
