Blurry Posted June 7, 2011 Report Share Posted June 7, 2011 A song I wrote, Fairlee Well, is going to be featured on the Rex Foundation's website as part of Rex's Musical Caravan. The song is a tribute/ode to Jerry and his life in the Grateful Dead, JGB and Old & in the Way/bluegrass (see below for lyrics). Half the proceeds from the song will go to the Rex Foundation. The Rex Foundation is the charity the Grateful Dead started in 1983. The song will also be on the upcoming Blurry Pickers album - due out in mid-July. The song is sung by Todd Gillies (Fat Cats) who is also playing guitar and includes, among others, Dan Walsh (formerly of Fred Eaglesmith & the Flathead Noodlers) on dobro and Ryan Morrison (Diesel Dog) on banjo.We still have a few details to iron out but it's been given the go ahead. The proposal is going through Jerry Garcia's estate next week - they need to approve the picture of Jerry we're going to use.
