  1. {{{{{{WOOT WOOT WOOT}}}}}}}} Go git er! S
  2. Yes that is exactly what I was referring to. Sarah Slean is the exact same way. I couldn't even sit through her music knowing that she was going to open her mouth after each song was done. Sean
  3. Her albums and songs are fine, her personality/ stage persona just irritate the hell out of me. Most of the people I have ever talked to about JD share the same sentiments. Maybe she just plays up the role out there for the hometown crowd I don't know.... And who the hell are you AD Robbie Williams? A fight? At least put up a $100,000. S ps. You and I still have a war to wage over my Bjork comments!
  4. No she couldn't. That chick is waaaaayyyyy too annoying to have any kind of mainstream success. Her, Sarah Slean and Courtney Love should do a tour opening for 2002's Ryan Adams.
  5. Love that band. Too bad NYE sold out..........
  6. For stunners, not just good albums: Death Cab for Cutie- Plans M Ward- Post War Cold War Kids- Robbers and Cowards Ryan Adams- Jacksonville City Nights Bright Eyes- I'm Wide Awake, It's Morning The Decemberists- Picaresque Mason Jennings- Use Your Voice Ray LaMontagne- Trouble Pearl Jam- newest release And I would even put the new Hip release World Container up on that list....... Sean ps. Ray is a recluse. Lives off the grid in a cabin way outside of Lewiston, ME. estranged from his family. How does a guy like that maintain a recording contract and touring obiligations? And yes Till the Sun Turns Black is absolute garbage.
  7. To clarify, I always have the lightest beer in my crew. BUDWEISER! My girlfriend came up with this killer closing remark: ~You’re going to forward this to your mainstream/corporate girlfriend since she will likely be able to say yes to about 90% of these too, as she’s the one who gets dragged through a lot looking for goo balls, was sober enough to remind and your friends in the lot that it was Moby Dick, has not as many but a lot of ticket stubs too, and has made up the death of an uncle or a grandma to make it to a concert five states away.
  8. So seriously did two people fall from the balcony during that show. I am positive it was pre show, even with all of the house lights on. I remember specifically because tung and I were barely able to stand as the free "booze" we were given in the lot from some spun wook had our knees wobbling right when it happened.
  9. I believe Ken Vandemark is actually from Chicago. Definitely two feet in the improv pool. He is a legend in "those circles" (like kung probably loves him). I have to admit he is a little too avant garde for my tastes, but he did put out an awesome album of Funkadelic covers called Spaceways Incorporated that was more than interesting. I believe this was recorded with his trio. See BradM for wikipedia definition, links etc. Sean
  10. I have their version in mp3 if you can accept a 3 MB email.......... Sean ps. Its great!
  11. Good one Scott. Over the past few years I probably average about 15-20 new discs a month including downloads, new purchases (at least 50%), and stuff that friends copy for me. My musical horizon has never been so broad, but I feel as though my listening relates to the "Jack of all trades, master of none" school of thought. I rarely get way into an album the way I once did, when I only got a small handful of new tunes every few months (student years). The only one of late that I can think of is Bright Eyes- I'm Wide Awake, It's Morning. I used to know every word, every note, the track listing, the producer and special guests on every cd I owned- but now I just know which albums I like. Good topic too, as over the past few days I have stumbled onto massive archives of full albums available for download in zip files. In the past two days alone I have grabbed all of Death Cab for Cutie, David Bowie, The Decemberists, and Sinead O'Connors albums and all of the Dylan cds I didn't have. PM me for the link. Interestingly enough, I do find that I pay more attention to the discs I purchase. Maybe I am trying to get my moneys worth, or maybe I just really like the packaging. I haven't figured it out yet.......... Sean
  12. I was at that show in Michigan with tungsten. Major bad vibes to start the show, as someone fell out of the second level to thud heavily about 10 rows away. That was a pretty good second set, I am going to go and throw that in. Thanks for the reminder. S ps. Ummm tour opener.
  13. AD does have a girlfriend, a very nice one infact; And yes I thought it was AD who brought up that comment.
  14. Not sure which you have linked up there, but 12.30.95 is the best Hood hands down. The Went would be up there, but this one is just heavenly. As for Gin, I love 92-94 'playful' Phish so I would have to take the Murat Gin from 8.13. But the Real Gin would probably get the most votes from fans. Hood was always the gamebreaker for our crew.... Antelope, YEM, etc would get us into a frenzy, but all of the love in the world couldn't fill in for Hood on many of those nights. Sean
  15. Frae The Friends And Land I Love Frae the friends and land I love, Driv'n by Fortune's felly spite; Frae my best belov'd I rove, Never mair to taste delight: Never mair maun hope to find Ease frae toil, relief frae care; When Remembrance wracks the mind, Pleasures but unveil despair. Brightest climes shall mirk appear, Desert ilka blooming shore, Till the Fates, nae mair severe, Friendship, love, and peace restore, Till Revenge, wi' laurel'd head, Bring our banished hame again; And ilk loyal, bonie lad Cross the seas, and win his ain. Fly that cross proud and high! Sean
  16. I am the only one that thinks they rip on Thin Lizzy more than the E Street Band?!?! Don't get me wrong, I love the cd; but its way more Jailbreak, than Born to Run. Sean

  20. No it most certainly does not...... Rage, BJORK!, Arcade, Roots, Sonic Youth, Manu Chao!!, Kings all awesome. The only thing that sucks about this announcement is Tiesto. Sean
