    BBQ

We finally got a BBQ! We've had it maybe 6 days, and have eaten BBQ for dinner 6 times. So now that I'm thinking we might not cook any other way until it snows, and the same sort of thing every night will probably get old, who's got my heady BBQ recipes?
  2. It is supposed to be nice: http://www.theweathernetwork.com/weather/14day/pages/CAON0201.htm Just thinking of being in the saloon... I can't wait! And phorbesie, I don't know what's not too far, but those estimates seem a little high to me. My memory is foggy on how long it actually takes, but from Ottawa I would guess it would take you the same amount of time to get to Ghost Town as it would to get to Izzy's.
  3. Hey it's still Tuesday, no need for belation... Hapy Bday Aaron!
  4. I recently cancelled all my Bell services - phone, TV, and internet. It is actually part of their procedure to make you an "offer" to stay when you call to cancel. They offered to match whatever price I was getting from another provider. The worst part is that even though your services are all bundled together and you get one bill, you still have to call each department that you want to cancel. You can't just tell one person to cancel evrything. And they don't seem to be capable of transferring you to the right person - I kept getting hung up on and transferred back and forth between the same departments. Apparently, according to the Cogeco installers, you shouldn't cancel with Bell before switching if you want to keep your number, though, or they will give you problems.
  5. I wonder if there's any way to get the extra trees planted in the park behind our house. You know that field at King William and Victoria that used to be a school? It could really use some trees around the edges, at least. It would be nice to look out the back window and see trees instead of the cars going by on Victoria.
  6. Becky, I hope you can make it! Can't wait to party with all you fun folks - Craig and I will BOTH be celebrating our birthdays in Chatham this weekend - so it will be EXTRA fun! Woooo!
  7. It's Yo Kicking it with Craig and Sari on a rainy night in the Hammer. Matching clouds for smoke. I'll be checking out Diesel Dog tomorrow at PJ's, looking forward to their new disc. I moved to a new place in the Falls with some land so we can have a mini-fest on June 23rd there. Its right beside the Bruce Trail, Hikers are welcome. he he A good Dead cover band from the Niagara area has confirmed (95%) and a couple of other bands are considering it. I'll keep ya updated. As for this thread, it felt nice and there were some sweet recolections spurred by your postings. It was cool meeting all a y'all at wherever and the next time will rock too. I hardly go on line but write e-mail to grassblower at hotmail.com if you wish. Peace Out, Yo P.S. I got more weekends off this summer hopefully to sell glass at shows and festivals and such, so keep an eye out.
  8. Yeah I think the Wilco presale was the way to go. QQC got us 6th row seats.
  9. I have a vague memory of some stall somewhere in Toronto selling a lot of different lavender stuff, I think it was possibly in St. Lawrence market? I could be mistaken though. I hope you get some sleep soon. I like sarah's guided meditation tape idea. I have one that I have never heard the end of. And I know its not helpful, but Macleans is a weekly, non? You should know that .
  10. I really liked the Droops that night too. Deeps, I hope you guys share a bill together in Hamilton soon .

  12. No one's mentioned the Annex yet? I loved living there. Though you aren't likely to have much outdoor space, I guess. Nice, central, safe. You might be able to find a cool old house split up into apartments.

  14. Iams just isn't a high quality food. There's lots of natural and healthy dog foods out there. Check out: http://www.dogfoodproject.com/
  15. Marge: There's someone here who can help you Homer. Homer: Is it Batman? Marge: No Homer, it's a scientist. Homer: Batman's a scientist.
  16. Congrats Brian and Tara! Been wanting to meet your girlfriend - guess now I'll have to meet your wife. Can't wait
  17. I'm thinking of coming up for nero. But don't worry about it really, I was just more interested in you not escaping the list of shame And just to clarify it wasn't Canada Post's fault for the gift I sent, it just got lost changing hands between skanks on its way to studog.

    Cool gifts

I got some awesome stuff: a badge-a-minit button maker with enough stuff to make 100 pins, a pair of black london birkenstocks, a cuisinart food processor, new baking sheets, and a wilco tshirt: I got a crock pot last year
  19. I got Jeff Tweedy Sunken Treasure Live in the pacific northwest DVD, and a Wilco t-shirt (both from QQC, the best gift giver ever).
  20. I think you need to add Freekerbythespeeker/Fairysari to that list. Studog never got his gift from me either, but I did send it... it just got lost on the skank pony express... but I'll happily send another.
  21. I just decided that I'm going to go to one of those paint your own pottery places, to make a big serving platter or something for my parents. I think they'll appreciate the thought, they always seem to prefer getting handmade gifts.
