If you look at the numbers people overwhelmingly are not buying music as they once were even 10yrs ago. Itunes is a drop in the bucket. Hitting the road is a way to make money for sure, but that is only one revenue stream and in this day and age where the music industry is imploding on itself, bands need mine many income streams... One is not enough... Also hitting the road, paying for gas, gear, roadies, hotels etc.. all cost money...It has to come from somewhere for these bands...

No one has still answered the most key question to all of this.... If you have a ethical problem with musicians/bands you like licensing their music to commercials etc...and these days no one to a large extent buy music...then how do you expect jam-bands like Wilco and Ween to make money and keep going?

I know of what you speak. I saw that show on VHS and Collins was not the right guy for the job.

None of the other towers that are bigger have even 1 tenth of the class the CN tower does. They all look like office buildings. And you are tight about the Tai Pai thing....

although I fear this reunion (of sorts) will come off tired and limp, if it tours anywhere within a 8hr drive of me I'll go. I'd kick myself to not see it.

How else do you think bands that do not get radio support or sell many albums fund thier progress. Music licensing is a key revenue stream. As long as it is done tastefully I see no sell out. I didn't hear anyone scream when Ween did a VW commercial or Spearhead a phone commercial. This is how things work now.
