  1. In. going early for Besnard Lakes too.
  2. seriously can we please get this for download. ommagod ommagod ommagod Monday is going to be sick.
  3. I'm hitting the elmo tonight, both up and down look alright. Probably stay upstairs though.
  4. That Dave Eggers article was fuckin wicked. I love that guy more and more and that article just made my fuckin day. thank you Dave Eggers.
  5. Let's hope for a Toronto show with or without Oasis.
  6. A good return to "funny" Weezer videos. Weezer rule.
  7. I had heard from reliable sources that Marc Ford quit the Black Crowes, and in fact, sent his publicist (yes, he has his own) to approach the Black Crowes management and politely explain that Marc could no longer remain in the band due to the drug use within the Crowes circle. Apparently it was mid-tour, and the day of or before a show. Hope those who wanted good seats got them. Seemed as though centre floors were completely gone when tickets went on sale.

    MUDCRUTCH

wicked album, flying under the radar of lots o' tom Petty fans.
  9. line up looks sweet. Any other WSP Canadian dates? I need to see the day-to-day schedule though....
  10. did anyone else on the their mailing list get that weird, rambling email about how they hope they're fans will go out an buy their record and not just download it? And to be nice, they included a link to the album version of Evil Urges. how prescient. I'm going to buy the album.
  11. Attn Ryan Adams fans who were loving the shit out of his blog, as I was, what the fack is going on with it?
  12. sweet. thank you for that. 2 great shows announced in one day (MMJ being the other) luther dickenson on slide guitar should fucking kick ass with the Crowes. He's all over the new record Warpaint sliding in ways the great Marc Ford seemed reluctant to do so (or ways the Robinson brothers seemed reluctant to encourage). sweet.
  13. anyone know when tickets go on sale for TO show?
  14. wish I could but playin my own show. I look forward to the download. enjoy, for gods sake enjoy.
  15. You're right, I was not aware of the specifics of your situation and I apologize for making assumptions that were misguided. I was actually standing right next to you guys when you were yelling (legitimately) at the door people. So were you up in the Soo when the show was announced? I would have rather you guys stuck it out and get in though, but I understand you were rightfully tired.
  16. Toronto live music audience + music industry douchebags (with requisite self-entitlement) = shitty lame audience for a kick ass rock band that deserves better. *note to producers of show - if you want a good "live" music experience for a TV show - get FANS of the band to come out, not music industry assholes who are going because its "cool" and they can. **note the people on the site are excluded from the above criticism as they are actually fans of the band/live music and the few in the audience who demonstrated actual enthusiasm. I was one of those outside who almost got shut out, and worse, we were there at 7:45 with the 10-15 others and thought we had time for a pint. got back in line at 8:18 and almost didn't get in. thank god for sticking around and thanks to those who left, making it more reasonable for 23 people remaining to be admitted. Dude from the Sault, I'm really sorry man. but if you drove 8 hours, maybe you should have stuck around a wee bit longer? I'm not trying to be an ass about it, and again, I'm really sorry, but 8 hours in a car for 30 minutes outside with a "chance" of getting in.....I was ready to leave thinking there was no way, but my friend insisted we stick around and holy fuck I'm glad we did. wicked fucking show, and I thought the new material sounded way better than the SXSW show.
  17. on the list for MMJ - got my reply seconds ago. sweet
  18. jaimoe - I believe our neighborhood is riverdale, not riverside.
  19. ya, whats up with that? I'm not sure I'm glad its not gospel instead of electronic sounding.
  20. I am so unbelievably saddened by this news. I've seen Jeff play many, many times over the years and I cannot express how shocking it is that a man of such staggering musical ability could pass at such an early age. I am grateful for having the chance to see someone of such talent play music. He will long stand as one of Canada's best guitarists. Jeff, we are better people for having had you with us.
  21. can anyone find a link to the SNL performance? i missed it last night.
  22. yep, a friend handed me the record about 5 years ago and I was floored (as most of us were). Sheer fucking musical genius. I still shudder at the emotional intensity of that music. I also now have 2 bootlegged DVD's of neutral milk performances. One is a show with 4 songs, the other is a very shakey-cam of a solo Magnum performance of 2 songs. Very cool to see the man himself playing. And for the record, he looks very happy during the performances.
  23. you can park in in NYC, no problem, even a van. Every time I go, parking is never a problem. Certain residential streets have daily restriction, like no parking Tues. and Fri. or Mon. and Thurs. For sure between 70th and 85th. I parked my rental car in the same spot for 3 days and 2 nights - Fri. afternoon till Sunday afternoon NO PROBLEM in front of a bunch of brownstones and no breaking in. It may take a few laps around the block but patience will be rewarded.
