  1. Jay- was that your sweet suitcase pedal board that got destroyed? I loved that thing.
  2. overrated. different from the last few Neil albums certainly, but way overrated.
  3. I can't believe that worked. Impressive.
  4. A young lady apparently took a flight from Dublin on tues. when she heard he might be playing on weds. night. Needless to say, she was disappointed.
  5. So you may have heard the rumors about Springsteen playing as a special guest while he's in Toronto today (and for the next day...?) promoting his movie at TIFF. I first heard this rumor on the radio today and I checked the Horseshoe website and found this..... Tue Sept 14: CLOSED FOR A PRIVATE TIFF PARTY 8:00p to Midnight! The Edge Dave Bookman’s Nu Music Nites returns on Tue Sept 21 and NO JC’s musical hero is NOT paying here tonight, he’s at a Gala film between 9:30 and 11:00, well that’s where JC will be anyway...lol Wed Sept 15: NYC Ex D Generation ‘Springsteen meets Gaslight Anthem/Replacements’! ‘JESSE MALIN’ @11:00p, Moneybrother’ @10:00p & ‘Clothes Make The Man’ @9:00p. $13.50 Adv @Tm-Hs-Rt-Ss. $15.00 @Door. Now this is the night he COULD show - We’re laying odds about twelve thousand to one, but if for some reason he ain’t jetting away back to New Jersey, anything is possible, I mean the fucking SPECIALS just played in Toronto, PAUL WELLER is doing JAM songs, GUIDED BY VOICES reformed, again - lol, I mean who knows what’s musically possible anymore, right? ‘Johnny works in a factory and Billy works downtown Terry works in a rock and roll band, lookin' for that million-dollar sound I got a little job down in Darlington, but some nights I don't go Some nights I go to the drive-in, or some nights I stay home I followed that dream just like those guys do up on the screen And I drive a Challenger down Route 9 through the dead ends and all the bad scenes, and when the promise was broken, I cashed in a few of my dreams’ Apparently he's personal friends with this Jesse Malin person. I dunno, I'm not a huge Springsteen fan or Malin fan so I have no idea but I thought the hardcores out there might like to know....
  6. ONE MORE DAY!!! AAAAHHHHHHHHHH!!! So pumped......I hate the fact my seats are 300 level but I just couldn't afford anything better.....I really hope considering the size of the show, where I sit won't really matter. ONE MORE DAY!
  7. I am so fucking stoked for this show. I cannot fuckin wait to see this. For my money, Roger Waters is a musical and artist genius. I have never seen, nor will I ever see again, anything like the concert I'm going to see on Weds. Did I mention I was fucking stoked? And thanks Kev for the links, very cool.
  8. loved the animation and really glad he didn't include the early 80's incarnation with the Toler brothers and Mike Lawler on synthesizers. gross.
  9. Tom Petty and the Heartbreakers and Crosby, Stills and Nash Air Canada Centre, Toronto, ON Wed, Aug 25, 2010 07:30 PM Section 102 Row H Seats 8 Price Level 2 Lower Bowl Seating Alcohol Permitted Type Full Price Ticket Price CA $134.75 x 1 Price Details Price Details Type Full Price Ticket Ticket Price CA $119.50 x 1 Facility Charge CA $2.00 x 1 Convenience Charge CA $13.25 x 1 SUBTOTAL* CA $134.75 $134.75 for one ticket in the 8th row of the lower bowl? Tom has got to be fuckin kidding. Isn't this the guy who tried to get the record companies to lower the cost of CD's and write an entire concept album about the sad, greedy, commercial state of the music industry? I call shenanigans.
  10. Jai - I agree the weirdness of the Evil Urges direction did work out well live. Thankfully. Still some great songs there no matter the approach. Very glad to hear they're back in the studio.
  11. I think I'll buy the physical album itself. But interesting choice for a name - maybe just a wee bit of a rip off of Ryan Adams and The Cardinals Cardinology....?
  12. what a fuckin awesome show. that was an example of getting your $40 worth. what a fuckin wicked awesome show.
  13. sad news. I always really liked Ben Keith's style, laid back, not overly complicated but very well connected to whatever the hell the song was. Tasteful, just plain tasteful. thanks for the sounds and the soul Ben.
  14. surprised this hasn't been posted already.... http://www.rollingstone.com/music/news/17386/180387 "As Rolling Stone previously reported, Waters has said he asked Gilmour to join 30th anniversary tour for The Wall, but Gilmour was "uninterested" in the offer." 50 000 pounds for Another Brick in the Wall. I hope it was fucking epic.
  15. I know of several people who have received a letter from Rogers warning them about downloading. In all cases they were downloading movies, not music. It's my understanding that these letters constitute a threat but that no law yet exists that specifically makes downloading a movie in that manner a crime. I think this new Copyright bill will put an end to that by spelling out exactly how downloading a movie via something like a torrent is illegal. Is there a lawyer on the board or someone who is knowledgeable in this area that can give us some insight into this? I'm not at all 100% sure about the letters legality and again, this is only my understanding through conversations with avid movie downloaders and those who received a letter.
  16. ditto, amazing show, and I have never heard anything like that before (Bela and Africa Project) That guy Bassekou Kouyate was really cool and that instrument was wicked in his hands.
  17. Question: If a digital lock exists on a CD or DVD and I burn it to my computer for personal use, how exactly is that going to be reported to the copyright holder? How are they going to find this out?
  18. Ha ha, Nero. He was such a douchebag. Caligula was worse though. There's probably like a bunch of bands named Caligula. So, other than organicmama, did any one else go to the show and how was it? Brief review/synopsis? I debated going but didn't.
  19. This might be the time to email your local MP and voice your concern, REGARDLESS, of your MP's party. I don't know enough about the technology and surrounding logistics to state whether this is in fact the end of file-sharing, but the thought that I can't burn a CD I bought to put on my Ipod is fuckin ridiculous.
  20. Ah, is anyone else concerned about this? Tony Clement has been making the rounds to promote/explain this new copyright bill and frankly I'm a bit concerned. Does anyone have any idea as to the possibility that this bill will in fact pass? I can only assume that ALL CD/DVD manufacturers will put these so-called "digital locks" on their product making burning a CD illegal. So again, is anyone else concerned about this?
  21. I was at this show but I'll be damned if I can remember anything about it.
