  1. Going into the Bears-Saints game I was cheering for 'feel-good story' New Orleans - I have no vested interest in either team, I just wanted a good game. However, I wanted the Bears to win immediately after Bush did that flip and gay dance after he scored the touchdown. The Saints have never won anything, never been to a conference final and the touchdown did not put them in the lead. The kid's a good player, but c'mon. The Raiders would have strung him up... or at least their fans would have.
  2. I hope with Rage reforming it'll finally spell the end of the truly awful Audioslave. I don't like Rage either, but at least they were innovative. The list looks pretty decent so far. I'd like to see Arctic Monkeys, Willie, Crowded House, The Roots and of course, Sonic Youth.
  3. You mean the daily kind? They stay in your eye better? Yes, and they tend to crumple up easily and thus can get lodged behind the eye more so than permanent lenses. Permanent lenses are thicker and stay in place better. Of course, permanent lenses are more expensive and have to be cleaned regularly and if you lose or tear one... I recently switched to two-week disposables. I like them since they breathe better than permanents, but they are flimsy and fall out easier - plus I can't see as well. Permanents compete well with glasses vision-wise. Many disposables just aren't as good vision-wise.
  4. I find disposable lenses more prone to sticking.
  5. This may sound gross, but REM sleep should shake that lense right out.
  6. It's ok! I bet if Little Steven wore that bandana on the Sopranos you'd have recognized him. His disguise is excellent. He's actually more famous than Max Weinberg and on-par E Street fame-wise with Clarence Clemons.
  7. Hey Lara, you may have naturally dry eyes. My mother and I suffer from this. As I mentioned, I do wear contacts and find lubricant drops a must. If you get lubricant drops, make sure they are for contact lenses. I'd ask your optometrist and/or ophthalmologist for the best kinds. Cheap drops can ruin your contacts.
  8. You could alter your current name into something totally indie like: The Achieve.
  9. On another note, do not over-wear lenses. They will fuck up your eyes if you do. I do not recommend daily use, but if you do, limit the hours of wear.
  10. It either fell out or unfortunately, got lodged behind your eye. You'd notice something if the lense got stuck behind your eye - it wouldn't feel right. Question: Were your eyes dry - meaning, is your other eye dry with the contract in. If it is, the other one could have easily fallen out or got stuck. I've been wearing contacts for over 20 years and have had my share of mishaps including the "behind the eye" problem. No, as far as I know, it won't cause any damage if it's stuck. It should work it's way out, but you may want to gently rub your eye and put solution in it too - it may help.
  11. I gotta say that I do not like watching UFC or UFC-type competitions. I love pugilism and have been in my fair share of fisticuffs over the years, but I just find the sport even more barbaric than even Thai boxing. I do love boxing, but these two sports are often compared even though they are nothing alike. Have you ever noticed that UFC fans could pass as WWE fans? But... that dude is one tough S.O.B..
  12. Little Steven also hosts his own syndicated radio show called "Little Steven's Underground Garage". He plays garage rock from the 50's to today. It's freaking excellent. Here's the link to the radio stations that carry the show (in Toronto it's Q107): http://www.littlesteven.com/news.html
  13. I'm not giving up, I just had trouble writing this review - it's not my best work. I got too caught-up in the nero love-in and chatting with old friends and meeting new ones that I only new as avatar pictures and handles.
  14. I found the whole nero weekend a giant distraction. I'm just happy that I could put something together. All I can say is that the band never missed a beat - they picked up right where they left off. They even looked the same sans G&L guitars.
  15. Sad news. Denny Dorhety died today in Mississauga. He was 66, which is a pretty old age for rock stars. R.I.P. Mr. Doherty. I loved your voice. http://www.canada.com/topics/entertainment/story.html?id=14630387-bde0-4fd5-9f36-73e2297b9347&k=4593
  16. I thought last night's Colbert Report episode was pretty strong even without O'Reilly. I found the OReilly "interview" pretty entertaining, especially since O'Reilly is a miserable cuss. It's tough to do even a mock interview when the subject is humourless egocentric fascist.
  17. The sad reality is that cities across Ontario are dying or dead (see Brampton, Cambridge, Belleville) - I'm talking about having vibrant urban city cores. Country living will hopefully always survive, but I feel the Ajax's, North Yorks and Pickerings of the world have won the war.
  18. I love living in vibrant cities downtown. I'll never live in the suburbs (although I grew up in one) and I see a fight coming on in the near future with my wife regarding country living. I do not want to be reliant on a car.
  19. This thread is more appetizing than listening to Daft Punk.
  20. I must admit that NBA games can be really boring, but if you have a team to root for and/or have an emotional attatchment(i.e. the Raptors), basketball is a good sport. I'm a die-hard Raptors fan and love watching them play. However, college basketball is one of the best sports to watch. Go Syracuse!!!
  21. The Jays line-up and most of the AL feasted on Wells' slow fast ball and curves that didn't curve. Who'd want him unless you got him for a #5 kind of money.
