  1. KOL quitting after just three songs? Don't their normal set lengths still run around 60 minutes? They were almost done even without the help of the bird shit.
  2. Haha - no doubt. I can see the bassist taking a break for a song, maybe even two songs to get the shit out of his mouth and shake it off, but the whole band calls the show? Indeed what a bunch of pussies. It's ironic again since KOL have been singing shitty tunes on several albums. I'm not sure if it was a Twitter comment or not.
  3. Hilarious stuff from Patterson. I can't disagree with him one bit either. I wish the bird would have instead gone Hitchcock Birds on those posers: Woke up to the news that Kings of Leon had to cancel the St. Louis venue (that we played last week with Petty) due to a pigeon shitting in the bassist’s mouth. I saw Mike Campbell (from The Heartbreakers) collapse on stage in 100 degree heat, get carried off (still clutching his guitar) and come back on to FINISH THE SHOW. That’s what you do. Kings of Leon walk off after three songs. What a bunch of pussies.
  4. I managed to get the last concert poster (only 220 were made) which is a signed venue specific limited edition. It's freaking cool looking.
  5. I go out on weeknights all the time, but I work shifts so I can't always go to shows (I did go to The Dead Weather and Rush on a weeknight). Weekends are also suspect (I get every other weekend off).
  6. They only come out on the songs from the new album. I ended up getting tickets at the door last night. What a fucking show! These guys speak my language. Oh, and I fucking loved hearing a Junior Kimbrough cover.
  7. I didn't go, but I'm trying my luck at the door tonight. My friend was there last night and he said it was one of the best shows he's seen.
  8. Escobar was Atlanta's MVP last year. Let's hope whatever turned his game sour there doesn't resurface here.
  9. There were a few at the door last night. I think I'm going to try my luck tonight in getting tickets at said door.
  10. It'll be interesting to see how Chicago fares this year with all the new faces. I think they'll be hard-pressed to win the West let alone repeat.
  11. How does she feel about Stalin?
  12. It was a good show. I really liked performances by Grohl and White. Paul almost looked like a man again too. I loved seeing his Hofner up close in HD. I'm sure PBS will air the heck out of it, but it's well worth checking out.
  13. Anthopolous is a bright guy. He's done well so far in his moves. I'd be happy if they keep him, but I'm more than optimistic in what Alex will get in return since the young core will be still intact. Still, I love Bautista and I liked him last year when he was a utility player. That being said, the Jays upcoming month is nothing short of brutal. I'd be surprised if they'll be 10 games under .500 when the chips finally settle.
  14. Not quite, you Bulldogs puckbunny. Alex is a Ukranian-Canadian.

    Avatar IMAX

Check it out. The story is alot standard western colonial and subjugation of the natives, but it's visually stunning.
  16. Steel Wheels should have been their "Farewell Tour", even though they jumped the shark with Tattoo You.
  17. Colangelo has a questionable future, not the Raptors. They still have good attendance. Obviously the Raps will have their work cut out for them trying to lure back Bosh fans, but hopefully those same fans are real basketball supporters. I'm a fan through thick and thin. I do think one or more of their young bucks must develop into good to great.

    Jim Rome

I don't mind Rome. He's at his worst when the show focusses on college football. His show is good company driving to Kingston from Toronto and back: 550 in Buffalo kicks out a very strong signal.
  19. Sad news. I love pugs (and I'm a cat guy). Pets certainly have a way of warming their into our hearts. Sorry about your loss. Deepest condolences.
  20. I've always thought that Markov has a bit of a French Canadian look a la this Hab great:
  21. It's a pretty intriguing choice to open the fest. The director's previous film was the very good Canadian road pic, One Week.
  22. The greatest Canadian ever.
  23. Yes, for the first few minutes, then it rocked!
  24. I'm pretty sure I saw Kanada Kev grooving to uninspiring new Rush up on the lawns. However, the concert was a good one. Best song for me was "Working Man", although "Limelight" fucking RULES!

    Vote Votto

If Votto and Morneau keep it going, two Canucks will be in the running for National and American League MVP. I wonder if the insular baseball writers would want to vote for two Canadians?
