  1. Yep...some big shows (like Arcade Fire) wouldn't allow me Friends First access at the $80 level...but seeing as I got in anyway I wasn't to pissed (that and the fact that it got me great seats for Wilco (x2), Ryan Adams, and the Cowboys junkies)
  2. I thought this quote was interesting (kinda funny too)...lets hope its true! I read it in NME, but I think its from a Rolling Stone interview...
  3. Its funny I had never even heard of these guys until a couple of weeks ago when I watched the trailer for 30 days of Night and they used one of there songs near the end...liked the song (Apocolypse Please I think its called)...found out who it was and grabbed the album (Absolution). I like it quite a bit...wish I had been more on the ball and gone to see this show!
  4. I have only watched a few of these, but have loved all of them...planning on buying the DVD's as soon as I catch up on Rescue Me which I am currently watching on DVD...oh and Mary Louise Parker is tres hot: Uncensored nsfw pic here
  5. Still pretty good seats online Row I off to the side)...but try the box office first...trust me!
  6. Get 'em from the massey hall box office (try calling first, if its busy try online)...there will still be decent tickets (I think) (416) 872-4255 online
  7. Right Side Floor You can go here to see your seats...
  8. Yep...got 4 seats Row D fairly close to centre...taking my parents to this one...should be fun times!
  9. Not sure if this will answer you question AD, but I find this site useful when looking at cars: http://www.fueleconomy.gov Oh and I own an 01 Nissan Altima.
  10. Interesting article...I have run into this as a photographer as well...you are supposed to have a working visa to shoot down there (at least if your getting paid). Interesting about Europe though...a friend of mine has toured there a few times...and has played barely a handful of dates in the US.
  11. Yeah, I've returned stuff that was in the clamshell packaging before (well technically it was actually OUT of the clamshell at this point )...didn't even say a word about it...most of the time the person at the desk couldn't care less if you want to return something.
  12. No worries...I picked one up too (and for the record my wife approved ). Can't wait to get it set up...
  13. I saw this on redflagdeals.com, but it says limited quantity, so they may not have any left in stock. The company is based out of the Ottawa area, so maybe some other skanks can vouch for their reliability? Anyway here's the link to the 550: 550 and the 670: 670
  14. ^^^^ What he said...this is a great recording BTW...been listening all morning!
  15. I do all of my downloading at work via a PC so don't have first hand knowledge, but like Basher I have heard very good things about Azereus on the OSX platform...
  16. Great thanks for that... BTW Weirdness...were you sitting in the left balcony about 3 or 4 rows up? I saw a someone taping his wires/mics between the low and wilco sets, maybe it was you? Oh and this torrent is smoking right now so get on it!
  17. That was fantastic...thank you for that (and thanks BradM from those of us without a sound card at work!)
  18. Apple laptops come in two flavours...macbook and macbook pro. In your price range the only option is the macbook (the macbook pro starts at $2200). So the highest end macbook (2.16 ghz) comes with 1 gb ram and a 160 gb hardrive for $1650, but is upgradable to 2 gb ram, and a 200 gb hardrive. I think these two upgrades are between $300 and $400 in total, putting you up around the $2000 range.. I am looking to buy one of these soon too so I happen to know all the pricing pretty well. Now seeing as you want to run video editing applications, I am not sure if 2 gb of ram are enough, if that's the case you would have to go up to the macbook pro which comes with 2 gb, but is upgradeable to 4 gb (for a pretty hefty price tag...like almost $1000). If you have any other questions let me know...I likely won't be back online until tomorrow though...when I'm at work and have time to fuck around!
  19. 20. Its actually a poster from a 2005 show in Britain (although it could also be from a t-shirt design as well). I found it at gigposters.com...a website I could spend hours on... Wilco poster All Wilcos posters on Gigposters.com

  22. Yep this is a good one...a little further drive, but worth the trip. You will see quite a few duplicate vendors though, so if you don't want to make the trip you can still get some of the food in Guelph. I think the London one is likely bigger...
  23. The closest one to kw is the Guelph Ribfest: http://www.ribfestguelph.com/ Not huge, but we went last year and there was some good BBQ.
  24. Thanks for that Jakis...getting excited for next week. Oh and MarcO...where are you sitting next week? I just want to make sure I'm not in front of you...for the record though Nels, makes me feel the same way...maybe a little more sticky and a little less wet...
