  1. Nope, they're still around, and have (IIRC) two new guitar players. They're getting a lot of attention in blogging circles, and have even done concerts in the "Second Life" on-line game/world. http://www.musicface.com/uncleseth/ Aloha, Brad
  2. That show is available for download: http://www.archive.org/details/nero2001-09-21.matrix.shnf Aloha, Brad
  3. Isn't it also true that the whole "an eye for an eye, a tooth for a tooth" thing is actually supposed to give an upper limit on what retribution one is allowed to exact? Aloha, Brad

  5. One of the inflatable ones, or the voodoo version? Aloha, Brad
  6. The Saturday, April 17, 2004 show by nero at Babylon in Ottawa is now avaialble for download: http://www.archive.org/details/nero2004-04-17.sp-bmc3.shnf (As far as I know, this is not the audio source used for the DVD of the show, but it sounds pretty good in its own.) Enjoy! Aloha, Brad

  8. After stopping their regular Thursday night gig at Babylon in Ottawa back in November, The Souljazz Orchestra is back there tonight (Saturday, January 6, 2007). I'll be there. Anybody else in? The doors are at 10pm, the cover charge is $5 at the door. Aloha, Brad

  11. I fully intended to go (I even discussed it with Pootie Tang* at Mavericks). After the show, it took me a little while to pack up, and when I got to the sidewalk, there was nobody (I knew) there, and a cab came by. I got in, mumbled the name of a destination close to my home, and we were off. I woke up later that morning, muttered a few expletives at myself for having missed THAT PLACE, and went about my New Year's Day business, never even considering the possibility that the party would still be going on. I'm aiming to use 50% of the heroin I used in 2006. Aloha, Brad * Is Pootie Tang in town?
  12. I don't know how to get in contact with him, so I'm hoping that getting the word out to those who do (or those who know those who do) will suffice. mattm's going to check with Chris (the taper) tonight, but the more avenues that get explored, the better. Aloha, Brad
  13. Has anybody in Ottawa seen or heard from Whitey lately? (I'm assuming the jambands.ca user "Whitey" is not Ottawa's Whitey.) I ask because I don't think he's well connected, and actually missed one of the November, 2004 Dekcuf shows because he simply hadn't heard about them. It would truly be a shame if he didn't know about next weekend. Aloha, Brad
  14. Dang. I spaced on the last nero after-party at THAT PLACE, and was hoping to atone for that in at least a small way next weekend. Aloha, Brad
  15. mattm, could we do a swap for blanks? (I'll be at Babylon tomorrow night for Souljazz, or next weekend at Mavericks.) Aloha, Brad
  16. I wonder if something like Thirty Two Short Films About Glenn Gould would work for this project: you don't present a continual start-to-finish narrative with one actor portraying Moon, but instead have a set of disconnected episodes from Moon's life, with Moon portrayed by an actor appropriate to each episode. Aloha, Brad
  17. According to http://www.cbc.ca/canada/story/2007/01/05/khan-defect-070105.html Aloha, Brad
  18. Ossington and Pape stations are on the Bloor/Danforth line, which runs East-West. Osgoode station is on the University line, which runs North-South. http://www.ttc.ca Aloha, Brad
  19. Yup, it was the release party for "Zedonk." Aloha, Brad
  20. Thanks for making this available: it turns out I had my (audio) recording of the show sitting on my hard drive; why I never uploaded it is a mystery to me. (I uploaded GTB's opening set, but not the nero for some reason.) I'll have to do some re-tracking of it, so I'm hoping to get it uploaded tomorrow sometime. (As far as I know, my audio is not what was used for the DVD.) Aloha, Brad
  21. Just goggles? Aloha, Brad

    BEER!!

It's almost as if the Lager bottles (which are 222 mL; Tankhouse comes in regular-size bottles, but contain 355 mL) are intended for a quick quaff rather than a deep drink. I'd love to try it on draft. Aloha, Brad
  23. Rheostatics - 2067 Cake - Prolonging The Magic Cake - Comfort Eagle Talking Heads - Remain In Light Cake - Motorcade Of Generosity Well, that's what I got on Christmas Day. The final gift of music arrived today: (Has anybody else noticed that the first track of it is "The Curtain With", which was the last song they played at Coventry?) Aloha, Brad
  24. That'd be a bad thing, especially when you're not playing with a full deck to begin with... Aloha, Brad
