man, I remember this episode! I remember seeing it when it came on, I was mesmerized!

In Session was a remarkable show. I remember also the one with Bruce Cockburn and Rick Emmett. Full on 1980's guitar meltdown!

I am probably wrong, but did they not used to film In Session at in Hamilton? I guess at what used to be the CHCH studios?

cool..... you're finding some real gems dude.

As far as I know, yes. I remember watching it (I lived in Toronto), and seeing that Vaughan/King episode, albeit probably on repeat.

Aloha,

Brad

Yep, the old CHCH studios was the place 'In Session' occured.

Since I've stopped downloading audio (just have way too much), I joined forces with two other people to make what we're calling a "downloading team", we each download different shows on DVD, then every two weeks we send out two copies of everything we download to one another (usually 6-10 DVDs to each). Saves bandwidth.

Im old tom moore from the bummers shore in that good old golden days

They call me a bummer and a ginsot too, but what cares I for praise ?

I wander around from town to town just like a roving sign

And all the people say, there goes tom moore, in the days of 49

In the days of old, in the days of gold

How ofttimes I repine for the days of old

When we dug up the gold, in the days of 49.

My comrades they all loved me well, a jolly saucy crew

A few hard cases I will recall though they all were brave and true

Whatever the pitch they never would flinch, they never would fret or whine

Like good old bricks they stood the kicks in the days of 49

In the days of old, in the days of gold

How ofttimes I repine for the days of old

When we dug up the gold, in the days of 49.

There was new york jake, the butcher boy, he was always getting tight

And every time that hed get full he was spoiling for a fight

But jake rampaged against a knife in the hands of old bob stein

And over jake they held a wake in the days of 49

In the days of old, in the days of gold

How ofttimes I repine for the days of old

When we dug up the gold, in the days of 49.

There was poker bill, one of the boys who was always in a game

Whether he lost or whether he won, to him it was always the same

He would ante up and draw his cards and he would you go a hatful blind

In the game with death bill lost his breath, in the days of 49

In the days of old, in the days of gold

How ofttimes I repine for the days of old

When we dug up the gold, in the days of 49.

There was ragshag bill from buffalo, I never will forget

He would roar all day and he'd roar all night and I guess he's roaring yet

One day he fell in a prospect hole, in a roaring bad design

And in that hole he roared out his soul, in the days of 49

In the days of old, in the days of gold

How ofttimes I repine for the days of old

When we dug up the gold, in the days of 49.

Of the comrades all that I've had, there's none thats left to boast

And Im left alone in my misery like some poor wandering ghost

And I pass by from town to town, they call me a rambling sign

There goes tom moore, a bummer shore in the days of 49

In the days of old, in the days of gold

How ofttimes I repine for the days of old

When we dug up the gold, in the days of 49

Erik Truffaz Ladyland/Erik Truffaz Quartet, Face-a-Face

Excellent double-live CD of the spacey French trumpeter's two bands. One disc per band, if you couldn't guess. Totally recommended, as is The Walk of the Giant Turtles. Get on it.

What do you mean you don't like Miles Davis?

Harry Manx's latest studio album.. Its got some gems on it (the song San Diego-Tijuana is a standout). Not sure if I'm a fan of the back-up singers on some tracks though, especially on the (so so) cover of It Makes No Difference.

The Beatles

Get Back/Winter of Discontent

DVD (2 of 2)

Comments:

Winter of Discontent: This is the additional disc included with Get Back. Highlights include the 2nd reel of Get Back outtakes, appearing far superior to previous issues of this material. Extensive time went into the remastering of this footage. The inferior audio has been replaced with improved sound sources from the Nagra rolls. The reel had several silent segments that have now been located and synchronized. In addition to the remastering, the entire reel has been placed in chronological order. Highlights include: “All Things Must Passâ€, “Commonwealthâ€, “House Of The Rising Sunâ€, a visit from Peter Sellers, “Two Of USâ€, “Let It Be†rehearsals, “I Want Youâ€. As a bonus, we have left in “Jamming With Yokoâ€.

January 26, 1969: Highlights includes: “Rip It Up/ Shake Rattle and Rollâ€, “Kansas City/ Miss Ann / Lawdy Miss Clawdy†in STEREO!

Also included: LET IT BE… NAKED promotional reel. This material was produced by Apple in 2003, and contains some incredible color footage from the January sessions.

Special Bonus tracks: August 22, 1962. With the January 30th rooftop concert being the last filmed Beatles concert, we thought we would include some truly rare footage from the Beatles first professionally filmed performance. For over 40 years, fans have only seen edits of the Cavern Club performance of “Some Other Guyâ€. Here we present the song unedited as it exists in the Granada archives, plus nearly 5 minutes of unseen raw footage! This footage is a direct copy off a station tape, not some Internet download.
