Ladies Of The Canyon, 2006-09-08 (house party, Ottawa, ON). They played after Lauzon's set and blew me away. I had no expectations, but if I had had any, they would have been turned to dust, instantly. These ladies played original music (one song was a cover, I think), with good instrumentation (acoustic guitar, keyboards, acoustic bass, which was even bowed at times), haunting angelic strong voices (with great harmonies), and mesmerizing lyrics. The music was sort of a hybrid of country/jazz/singer-songwriter/acoustic music, which drew you in; it didn't force you to pay attention, but the more you did, the more rewarding it became.

Aloha,

Brad
