Rossolee
Not sure if this has been posted already... Looks like the ABB will be playing a couple nights at the Fallsview Casino June 23/24 in Niagra Falls.www.allmanbrothersband.com
NewRider
BOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO.......I can see a lot of people getting thrown out of this show!
Drawbar
I guess they are looking for a smaller venue. Molson lawns were closed last year.Bummer
NewRider
they should have went with Massey Hall, at least you're allowed to STAND UP there!
deranger
Now the question is: which show, June in Niagra Falls or August in Buffalo? As a special guest of Tom Petty? That rocks, I can only assume its a double bill with Petty headlining. On second thought, I think I'll do both shows (or one Niagra and the Darian)
Tooly
id LOVE ti hit this show!aaron you saying the venue is lame? they dont let you stand or dance?
secondtube
its a casino.i've been to a few casino shows....definitely no standing and dancin...but those were chillin' shows...its definitely different than a normal venue bud.
NewRider
I've never been to Fallsveiw but at Casino Rama shows you can't stand. Hopefully they'll bend the rules a bit for these shows.

Tooly
when do tix go on sale??? this is awesome...as long as theres dancin allowed (what kind of bullshit is that?)my thoughts exactly, no dancin at an allmans show? i think not!!lookin foward to this, if anyone finds out when tix are up forsale, if you could post said link, or where to get em, that would be sweeter than the blueberry im smokin
doug
I have been to a number of shows at Rama, and if you have floor seats there, they will let you go up to an area in front of the stage for dancin and such, but if you stay in the seating area they really frown on the standing and dancing, I assume Niagara is pretty much the same. A casino just doesnt seem like the right kind of venue for a band like ABB, and I really cant imagine them opening for Petty.
TimmyB
If you don't want to see the Allman Brothers Band at the Fallsview Casino you can see them perform with Tom Petty and the Heartbreakers on August 15 at Darien Lake PAC.Tim
mark tonin
Has anybody on this board been to the Niagara Falls casino venue? It's pretty new I think, built in the last few years. I'm guessing it's a sweet sounding venue. But it will be a drag if people aren't standing/dancing.I'm guessing that ABB will be headlining the Darien Lake show. I've seen them at Darien Lake a few times, and it has always been pretty full with them headlining. But those shows were on Saturday nights 3 to 5 years ago. I wasn't at the last ABB Darien show ... I think it was 2 years ago.Peace, Mark
secondtube
i've been there.i've seen art garfunkel there. it sounds great. its designed for artists like Art Garfunkel, not the ABB.
doug
I havent been to the Casino in Niagara Falls, however it looks like most of the shows they get there are kinda pricey as far as tix go ($70-$100)All the reports I have heard is that is a good sounding theatre however. Also, from the reports I have seen so far it looks like Tom Petty will be the headline act in Darien Lake (mightbe a double bill, but it seems Petty will be playing after ABB)
Dr_Evil_Mouse
I suppose the trick is to get into just the right headspace that you're incapable of dancing but not so far gone that you can't stay awake and enjoy the music . I call it the Corrupting Influence of Pink Floyd (inasmuch as there might be such a thing). Seeing them was the first experience I ever had of watching an audience go apeshit when they hit the stage, and then sit down and be quiet as rabbits once they started playing. Actually, that's all very silly. I blame it in the end on Canada's Protestant, pickle-up-ass attitude towards public gatherings (which I suppose is all the more ironic, given that it is a casino). edger
I saw Gord Lightfoot there a couple of months ago. That show was sort of naturally a sit-down kinda show. I enjoyed it. But yeah, sitting in your seat for Allmans is a whole different story.I find it sad that they are not able to fill Molson Amp
mark tonin
Also, from the reports I have seen so far it looks like Tom Petty will be the headline act in Darien Lake (mightbe a double bill, but it seems Petty will be playing after ABB)Hey Doug, it surprises me, but I think you're right after going to the ABB site and seeing this info about the Darien Lake show:Event Date: Tuesday, August 15, 2006Start Time: 6:00 PM * Band: Allman Brothers Band Venue: Darien Lake Performing Arts Center Venue Web Site Location: Buffalo, New York WeatherNotes: As Special Guests of Tom Petty; The Derek Trucks Band also appears Parking Lots Open: 3:00 PM Peace, Mark
