Thanks AD.

Though it's all hearsay, I've heard lots that would support the arguments that Devon's made in his letter. The only actual fact I can contribute is that Craig Mercer has been nothing but gold in my experience (though he reminds me a little of a trimmed down Chris Farley at times). I'm no musician, but I sure like music (and the kind folks who bring it to me).

maybe that copied post should just go away? I don't like the idea of rumour spreading and trashing people with no evidence.

that post is highly suspect and unless anyone here thinks there's any value to it....I think it should be deleted.

What...and have Jambands ending up like a site that is sugar-sickening-sweet such as "My Place"???...that site is just way too creepy-nice...

A little bit of the "Dark Side" never hurts...just ask Luke... ;)

never mind. Sometimes rumour spreading just bothers me too much. Especially when a post has been copied and pasted on a bunch of differnet message boards...and I've also seen it going through peoples email inboxes.

It just seems to be the wrong kind viral for my taste.

Dude from Mars Hill needs to knock his head a few times- this IS the way young bands get on festival bills: get paid nothing, get your friends to buy tickets, prove your worth, grow your audience.

He may be pissed off (as Im sure many are) but this is not a smart move for this kid - why burn bridges? I'm sure he's regretting it already.

As far as I can tell, dude from Mars Hill is a very well respected PEI musician. And many other PEI musicians are telling similar stories on the local boards. Correct me if I'm wrong Punk.

Burning bridges? What bridges? Shoreline is dunzo.

You really have to feel for the promoter. Sure some people's weekends got ruined, but his reputation and livelihood are at stake. But I can't help but chuckle after all the comments Dave and Shane and crew made towards the Sunseeker and Evolve organizers. Smell the fear across the Northuberland Strait? Karma's a bitch, ain't it?

-How do we know bands knew not to show up 12 hours before the show was cancelled?

-Right or wrong, I bet the people who wrote that letter started regretting it about ten minutes after they sent it. ALWAYS wait at least a day before sending a letter like that.

-I too will chime in with nothing but ups for Craig Mercer. It seems like his name should be way off that letter.

-Mike, how is it you see peoples inboxes?

From what I've heard the New Deal were told on Saturday night not to bother getting on a plane the next morning to fly to PEI for the show.

Perhaps someone on here with more links to tND can speculate, I probably shouldn't have. But that's what I heard.

I'm sure he's respected, its just a dumb thing for a musician to do. He's mentioned someone who isnt involved- negatively. He's giving details that arent really neccesary for public disclosure.. he might be the fuckin' Miles Davis of the Island, but I've never heard of him, and any promoter reading that letter is going to think twice about taking a chance on the band, i would think..

You just got one of them Viagra emails. Go check!

That letter was forwarded to me an it had already been forwarded a couple of times. That's a few inboxes and I can only assume it's gone through many more.

Craig's a great guy from everything I've ever seen or heard of him. I am pretty disappointed in this queen of PEI's letter meant to trash him and others.

I now know what band I'll remember never bother with.

Just got in....what a crazy week!!! GRAB...Baj forgetting my shit, a straight drive to PEI in time for dinner Wednesday night...the rest is fuzzy...

I don't want to speculate what happened at the fest...What i will complaint about though, was getting an unwelcomed visit from security at 2am Sunday morning. 2 guys with flashlights bust into our shelter yelling "Wristband check!" - as i'm peaking no less - I'm blinded by the lights and confused as hell....schwa is trying to explain whats going on as I try to piece together what is causing shoreline security to be complete douche bags.

But other then that and the dissapointment of missing some good acts on sunday, the rest of our stay in PEI turned out to be a kick-ass party back in Rustico.

Thanks to Punk and Bug for the superb hospitality, ..the ottawa crew...you guys party harder then anyone i know...You made me feel very welcome and I had a blast trying to keep up with all you guys. ...tooo much, tooo much.

Glad to finally meet all you o-town peeps...schwa, Gateaux, Bitsy, Tuglets, Dinghy, Asparagus, Freeker, Sloth, LoMac, sunshine, Douglas, Booche, and ofcourse, mean-face. you will all be on my mind throughout this crunch month at work...

to moe.down?

P.s. - he called the shit "poop"!

we're home now too...after being pulled over for speeding and sleeping 4 hours behind a sketchy Tim Horton's...

I already miss my Shoreline week...Great meeting you canooky...the weather there destroys this humid bullshit we have in the O-dot...The raging downpours didn't keep alot of people from partying in the barn or tents....Sunday should have continued...what can you do?

Didn't have the heart to tell that kid he was missing De La Soul.

Hey hey hey, thanks to everybody who came out to visit! 24 hrs after the last wooks left my house (Booche and Freeker) and the place still has the "stank". My home theatre has never heard such "crunchy jams"!

I have been back to work for 2 days and my head is still waaaay up in the clouds.

Expect a "Lost & Found" post here sometime(a pair of sneakers from the front step- maybe Kooky's?).

Who cares about a missed day of a festival, I was much more interested in seeing my friends!!!
