Merriman to Buffalo. No word on Tila Tequila.

Updated Nov 3, 2010 6:00 PM ET

Shawne Merriman now knows which team he will be playing for next.

The winless Buffalo Bills have successfully put in a waiver claim for the three-time Pro Bowl linebacker.

As first reported by FOXSports.com, the Bills showed interest in claiming Merriman when he was placed on waivers by the San Diego Chargers earlier this week.

Bills general manager Buddy Nix was instrumental in drafting Merriman when Nix was still with the San Diego Chargers.

A sign of how upside down things are this year: Chiefs vs. Raiders is one of the big games of the day and the Browns have beat the Saints and the Pats.

The Vikings and the Jets comebacks made me ill.

Yeah, another interesting week. Nice to see the Browns lay the smack down on the Patriots.

Detroit had a chance to run the ball on 3rd down with less than 2 minutes to go. They threw the ball to the full back and it went for an incompletion. Stopped the clock. Dummies!

And then the Jets march down and score.

Detroit is Buffalo's red headed step brother.

Nice to see Mick Vick back, I love watching him.

Yeah, some pretty crazy games this weekend.

Look at the Raiders mounting a charge! All that really means is a few hundred more virgins will be dumped into a blender and feed to Al through his gold feeding tube in an effort to keep him around a little longer. Still, biggest win the Raiders have had in a while, Im sure you were drunk as shit Booche.

I'd be excited about GB crushing the Cowboys but seeing as Punk stank up the Packers will his Ollie-espue bandwagoneering it wasn't the same.

Bills, jesus christ, can't say enough about their ability to lose. Unreal.

Oh Buffalo......

ORCHARD PARK, N.Y. -- Linebacker Shawne Merriman's first practice with his new team in Buffalo didn't last very long.

Merriman limped off the field Wednesday with a lower right leg injury about 30 minutes into practice, his first with the winless Bills since they claimed him off waivers a week ago.

Taking part in an individual drill in the middle of the field, the former San Diego Chargers star pass-rusher took a few steps back and then hopped in the air in pain after he took a pivot step to his left. Merriman pulled down his right sock and limped to the sideline where a trainer spent a few minutes checking the player's ankle.

Merriman then consulted with head trainer Bud Carpenter at midfield before being escorted into the Bills' fieldhouse, where the team's training room is located. The team had no immediate update on Merriman's injury.
