kung
Well not quite my dream job. It doesn't involve marijuana cultivation, pornography, Gene or Dean Ween but close. I am now officially the Events Co-ordinator for The Ontario Rural Council (plus it's a year contract and starts a few days after my job at my current place ends). They're basically a group representing all of the organizations with a vested interest in rural Ontario (industry, resources, conservationists, economic and community developers) and hold large high profile conferences on the challenges and achievements in Ontario. Sorry to brag I know alot of people are working jobs that they don't care about or are beneath them. I guess I just have to say keep with it and keep your chin up because you never know what is around the corner. If you asked me a year ago what I'd be doing now I would have thought desperately unemployed. Touch of Grey just came on the radio.

Velvet
Right on man, hope you like the work. A friend of mine just became the events co-ordinator for the NCC. Her first gig was to organise the Gov. General Awards. Sounds like fun to me.

MarcO
That's real heady, brah. Congratulations! Your post came at the end of another humiliating, degrading day at work for me. An awful day. I fucking hate this. Far from making me jealous, your post just reminds me I have to get out of this depressing situation sooner than later. So, thanks! Booche
Obviously the dream lives on for some of us. I thought you were going to say that you were hitting the road with Stapes and the Drunken Rambler supported by the Forty Main All-Stars. Whatever suits your fancy, panzie. SaggyBalls
Well I've got what's pretty damn close to my dream job but the club's in a bit of a state...we've gone through 2 staffing changes since I've been around and people aren't partying with me enough(dont' feel pressured unless you now want to come and cheer me up) so just make sure to keep mindful of all aspects of everyting even remotely related to your position. there's gotta be somethng i'm fogetting about but i don't know. congrats dude but don't get too comfy. if you want to do a killer job you'll be working harder than you'll have expected and at times want to. and don't forget to have kickin parties in grenville county. people there are loads of fun. Jaimoe
Congrats Kung. I'm sure that one of the first things you'll do in your first week on the job will be to push for a lot more of these rural and city " positive " stores to open up in Ontario:
kung
Yeah saw Caution Jam, we were all set to make it out to Nero and then the whole plan just fizzled. I shouldn't say that I was pleasantly surprised by the Jam since they're all solid musicians but I was. It was a really cool night more of the phish or nero sort of textural jams out of the Dead standards- they were really on. I'm pretty sure in the haze they played Funky Bitch! Irie Guy
Hey there Kung, I don't know you yet but we may cross paths one day. We are moving next week to the Heritage village of Paisley. Having bought a 130 year old mercantile building on the main street; which will become the hub for all things Hempopotamus, and eventually house what should become one of rurals Ontario's best eco-stores I am hell bent on doing everything I can to promote tourism and responsibility in my new found home.
