Well, about a year before we were ready for/planning for it, we may be in the market for a new car (unless a mechanic can perform one more life saving maneuver on our hot pink beastie-car. Has anyone on here purchased the Honda Civic Hybrid? Any stories, advice, caution? We really need a van/SUV type thing for the fam, but I think the Civic is the only thing in our price range. great news YATS (and all y'all others with plans for more saner, greener pastures..... almost 2 years to the day we left the Big Smog and no regrets. While getting used to more conservative neighbours [we thought we'd eventually find the other freaks...turns out WE'RE the freaks] is a pain, the multitude of other delights has been worth it! There have been so many songs written about moving to the country (now there's a 12-song game theme!) that clearly there's something to it. Cities and their conveniences will always be there for a visit and occasional thrill, but green + water....ahhhhh, now that = peace and contentment

miss having you more frequently and tangibly in our lives...glad I can find you here sometimes at least, and enjoy your wicked sense of humour. I have so many laugh-lines thanks to you....every one of them a wonderful side-splitting memory. Mike, you should make an informed choice as per Wonderland vs La Ronde, so I think you need to know that at La Ronde (and all Six Flags, I believe) you can buy biere-en-fut (as well as Sangria) and drink openly ANYWHERE in the park....I guess American values are good for something at least!

okay...I found a video...and now I'm nauseous all over again!!

we bought a family season's pass to Montreal's LaRonde this year (it's now a Six Flags park and membership gives reciprocal entry to ALL Six Flags parks throughout the season...a pretty good deal, imo) Anyway, now that Six Flags has moved in, the old waterpark that I remembered has been dismantled BUT they've installed a gagillion HUGE roller coasters (okay, maybe only about 8) But they are wicked scary...especially the biggest one, called Goliath. I've lost my taste for coasters over the years, though, and riding them once, just to prove to my kids I'm only 88% chicken, is all I can manage.
