  1. agreed! could've done without the singing, but some of the instrumental stuff was pretty awesome.
  2. if i'd have known everyone's favourite gay scottish interior decorators, colin and justin, were going to be there, i totally would have gone! shucks...
  3. not that i can go, but it's something. (from the peach-gram): Rock ‘n Roll Hall of Famer Gregg Allman announces Tune In to Hep C, a public health campaign to help raise awareness of chronic hepatitis C virus infection. To help turn up the volume around hepatitis C, a one night only benefit concert featuring The Allman Brothers Band will be held at The Beacon Theatre in New York on July 27, the eve of World Hepatitis Day. “There are many people who have been diagnosed with chronic hepatitis C, but aren't taking action. I want to tell them, don't wait. Doing nothing is not an option; they need to talk with their doctor,†said Allman, a founding member of The Allman Brothers Band. “I made the decision to take action and talk to my doctor, so that I could get back to making the music I love. I want others to take that action too, and if I can help make that happen, I've done my job.†Proceeds from the benefit concert will be donated to community-based organizations that provide education and support services to people with chronic hepatitis C. Tickets will go on sale tomorrow, Wednesday, June 22 at noon EST and are available at Livenation.com, ticketmaster.com, select Ticketmaster locations and charge by phone at 800-745-3000. If tickets remain they will be available at The Beacon Theatre box office beginning Thursday, June 23. There is a 4 ticket limit, per person.

    Dammit!

lots of heavy hitters on that list. such an interesting topic, thanks for posting that. i'm definitely a big proponent of regulation as opposed to criminalization, a quick look at prohibition in the US and it seems like a no-brainer.
  6. i don't know if it's closer, but the traffic will probably be lighter..
  7. detroit for us, it's closest.

    HELP CHATHAM!

great point thorg - chatham has some seriously amazing history RE the underground railroad, especially! chatham has taken a hard hit economically in recent years, and this theatre is not only something we can be proud of (yes, i still say 'we' even though i haven't lived there in years), but it also gives a much-needed shot in the arm in terms of revenue and promotion of the arts. it would really be a shame to lose this theatre. thank you for signing, peeps!!
  9. eeee haven't had a good chatham et al throwdown at the knob in a while! *excited*!
  10. i know a lady named stormy. true! haven't read the article yet.

orecchiette! love that word. little ears!! hee-hee..
  14. Curious here..if 'killing is killing', would you say that the 40 or so assination attempts on Hitler were bad too? ..I should go read some books probably.. that's a thinker for sure. i guess i don't see how killing him would have necessarily solved anything, i.e. if you could toss him in jail instead, send him to trial, i think that's a better alternative.
  15. agreed thorg. maybe i would feel a tiny bit differently if i lived in NYC, but i really don't know. killing is killing. someone posted a fitting MLK jr quote on FB yesterday... i'll find it.
  16. miss vids: will you be at one of said locations?
  17. yeah, i would love to see john baird go.. doubtful but you never know! one can hope. i found it very interesting to discover he's actually gay. how he can stay with the tories is anyone's guess.. more than him i would LOVE LOVE to see pierre poilevre go. somewhere far away. really far. i'm happy i can vote with my conscience in ottawa centre, but if i were in osgoode or nepean my vote would pretty much be wasted. electoral reform, please!!!
