  1. Just read the citizen this morning. I notice they printed a letter from AD with the flyer stuff and my letter as well (after noticing that we smoke 4 times more weed than the rest of the rich countries). Buddy Guy was pretty good last night but the chairs had me again. For one there was a big section near the front, could have fit around 40 - 60 people but instead had 8 lawn chairs (one a recliner). Then I got hit in the ass with one. I also saw one guy kick on of the wooden ones by accident and almost trip then 10 minutes later some guy did trip, on a folded chair sitting carelessly on the ground. Alright, enough for me, moe. time, woo hoooo!!
  2. Just found that letter and kudos again to the citizen for publishing it.
  3. Same here. That's one of my biggest disappointments: The media seems to have no clue and often it's the media that decides things or forces decisions to be made. Kudos to the citizen.
  4. Citizen letter to the editor, fire them off: http://www.canada.com/ottawacitizen/letters.html Remember, though, as Velvet states above, be polite and outline your concern if you wish to contact anyone. Civility will pay off, harassment most likely will not. Have fun and hope to see you all tonight at Bela (please don't rain )
  5. I emailed the guy too, before reading about him being out of the office, and of course I got the same response. Man, this totally kills my enjoyment of the festival. There is SO much wasted space with the lawn chairs and they are dangerous, even folded up. If you're walking through the crowd you often can't look all over the place and it's very easy to trip on the chairs especially if they are folded up. I don't understand why they are allowed at all. Blankets are fine for sitting and concerts outdoors in a field are fine for standing. It doesn't hurt that much. The thing that gets me the most is that I read the newspaper and listen to the radio and they talk about all sorts of things but I hear virtually nothing about the lawn chair situation. They talk about how big the crowd is but it's really 2/3 the size you see. When the people stand and keep the chairs up, it kills me. Whatever anyone decides to do, I'm in. Panphlets, cool, shirts, cool, smash chairs, I'll do it if others do (don't want to hit jail alone). Why don't we make an area for ourselves. Instead of bouches idea of selling chairs, why don't we pick an area and own it. The early people start setting up blankets and stuff there and as more people come in, we crowd it more. There's more than enough of us (including board members and their friends that might not be on the board). United we stand, divided we fall, fits perfect here. Anyway, that's it for me now or I'll get too worked up and I don't want to be too pissed off for Bela (I will not matter what with the chairs so thinking about them now is not a good idea). Cheers and lets make a scene this year, email the newspapers, bug whoever we can. Can someone put a list of email addresses or phone numbers on here to call/email?

    Dirienzo's Day

mmmmmmmmmm dirienzo's. It's too bad the prices went up but like the sign there says, shit costs more (well, it doesn't say that exactly) so they had to do it. I say whatever they have to do to stay in business is just fine. $4 for their sandwiches still isn't bad at all since you'll pay way more for subway, etc, and the sandwich won't be nearly as good.
  7. Happy birthday Stephi, you're the greatest woman in the world and I'm glad I have the chance to spend this and many more with you.
  8. Hey guys, Not sure if this has been on here or not but I thought it was rather amusing: http://www.ifilm.com/video/2664504 I don't know if that's the whole thing until I get home but most likely.
  9. the other umphrey's thread said that there are two sets, 9 and 11. I think they'll play until a healthy time. oh yeah

    oink invites

I'd love an invite but I still can't figure out how to get a decent ratio on there. nothing I download gets uploaded.

  12. Just got to TO, wooo hooooooo!!! We're at Jakis' house at the moment but he's at work (sucker, hehehe, sorry jake, we'll see you in a bit). Can't friggin wait, wooooo hoooooo!!
  13. I'm pretty sure it's still 6 to get in free. I volunteered last year and tried for the backstage and stuff but ended up with the beer tent. It wasn't so bad but to tell the truth it would have been better to just pay the money. I had to miss too many shows.

    NEro

Anyone driving from Ottawa by any chance? Steph and I have pondered these shows as she's from there so it would be nice to visit the family. We may rent a car or we may just not go, it's all still in the works but it would be real fun.
  15. hahaha, poor luke and his friend. Man, when I go to shows people constantly look at Steph and even come over to try to pick her up, regardless that I'm there and have had my arms around her lots of the time. It sucks but man, that's what happens, especially at a sausage fest in which the audience is all hyped up on shit that will no doubt make them horny and without inhibitions. I haven't really heard the CP but there's nothing wrong with giving someone's personal view of music. I have a feeling, though, that the view expressed above may have been influenced by the bad night and the audience and I don't like seeing things like that. Just because someone has a bad night doesn't mean the music is bad but then, perhaps it does. Who knows, who knows, I guess I don't really have much to say here so I'll stop now. I'm looking forward to CP hitting Ottawa (are they? that'd be cool).
  16. Happy birthday sara, nice seeing you at langerado, great weekend there.
  17. I found a free coffee on the ground, not sure if that counts as winning or not but I got the coffee.
  18. ah, that's really close to my home (penetang, caution jam cruise), would have been a fun trip.

    Need House

we've been looking through craigslist and a few other places but haven't had too much luck as of yet. We'll keep looking, though, and thanks for the advice (haven't checked kiriji or whatever that is yet, thanks).
