AD
Easy.... Ryan Adams (Umphreys tours a lot, unlike Ryan, and Umphreys might still be around in a couple years, unlike Ryan). Saturday, Built to Spill. I don't even understand how you're having trouble there. AD

MarcO
Ryan Adams and Feist all the way. For me personally, that's a total no-brainer, especially choosing Adams over Umph's. Good Lord!

Blane
skip umph and make up for it by going to see your average blues-rock band in a local bar.
AD
feist will most likely put on the exact same show the next time you see her, so if it were me i'd totally skip that. where are you gonna see built to spill play next?AD

MarcO
wheres the love for Umphrey's?Umphrey's should be waiting back stage to wash Ryan Adams' car. They're destined to be a minor footnote in a musical movement that is itself a minor footnote. Ryan Adams has already written a dozen songs that will last long after he is gone. Birdy
wheres the love for Umphrey's? i've got your love for umphreys!but... if it came down to it and i was faced with the dilemma, i'd skip umph and see ryan adams instead.. and then make up for it with a NYE trip to Chicago to tear it up. that way you're a winner all over the place.AD's right though.. umphreys does tour a lot, whereas adams doesn't.. definately something to keep in mind.then i'd go feist - built to spill. Tenenbaum
dude, go and witness the GO! Team tear shit up at Lola! You just know they're going to bring the heat with a live opportunity like that.
c-towns
what are these ryan adams songs that will be around when he's gone? I can't find them anywhere.
gentlemonkey
I guess it depends on your mood, Admirable Admiral King. If your rage is on, I'm sure UM will be swinging for the fences. Ryan Adams surely isnt touring around here much, so rare opportunities need be taken. UM is best in a 2 set situation anyway. Saturday: BTS, and whatever you happen to see before. YearsAlongTheSea
I'd just be generally upset with the line-up and wind up seeing Ryan Adams and enduring a raunchy set of particle; with an intermediary, long, long, bathroom break.

deranger
At least Umphreys wouldn't stop a show and kick a fan out for making a joke at their names, unlike Mr. Fragile (massive) Ego Ryan Adams....Fan in crowd at Ryan Adams show: "Play 'summer of '69!"Ryan Adams to audience "Get that guy out of here or I don't play another song."Mr Crybaby I'm so damn important then had his manager escort the heckler out of the show, only to have him return shortly after with an apology from Ryan's manager for making him walk out in the first place, to appease Mr. Bigshot. He may write great songs, but what a fucking loser. And crybaby whiner with no sense of humour. Umphreys may not write touching, heartfelt ballades but they will play CIRCLES around any band out there now.
