A Los Angeles judge dismissed a libel suit brought by Spears accusing Us Weekly magazine of fabricating a story about a sexually explicit video the pop star and her husband made together.In a decision made public Monday, the judge said Spears had “put her modern sexuality squarely, and profitably, before the public eye†in a way that would make it unlikely for the magazine article to be found defamatory.Spears’ marriage to Federline was her second after a 2004 spur of the moment wedding in Las Vegas to a former high school sweetheart that was quickly annulled.Motherhood has also brought its problems. But two police officers in New Mexico were distinctly unamused to discover that the hamburgers they were happily chomping had been laced with marijuana. Mark Landavazo and Henry Gabaldon are suing Burger King, alleging an array of offences from battery to negligence, after they discovered the special ingredient in their take-out meals. The two officers were in uniform and driving a marked patrol car when they stopped to pick up food at a Burger King restaurant in Los Lunas, New Mexico. They were halfway through their meal when they began to suspect the presence of an intoxicating substance on their burger patties. After a field test kit confirmed the extra ingredient was indeed marijuana, the pair took themselves to hospital for a checkup and further testing. Sam Bregman, the lawyer for the two officers, said their discovery gave "a whole new meaning to the word 'Whopper.' The idea that these hoodlums would put marijuana into a hamburger and, therefore, attempt to impair law enforcement officers trying to do their jobs is outrageous." Three Burger King employees have been arrested in connection with a separate criminal investigation into the incident, which happened on Oct. 8. I could have sworn I heard the "entertainment news" media ranting about how both of her kids has the same initials....
