Kanada Kev
Grrrrrr ....... 'He's not going anywhere' May 09, 2007 Sportsnet.ca Speculation has been rife as to whether Ferguson will be ousted as Maple Leafs GM. (file) Sportsnet.ca -- John Ferguson Jr. will remain as general manager of the Toronto Maple Leafs, at least for the time being. On Wednesday afternoon the board of directors of Maple Leaf Sports and Entertainment approved Ferguson's plans for the team for next season, according to the Globe and Mail. MLSE president Richard Peddie told the paper the directors approved the plans and that Ferguson will be around for the final year of his contract. "[Ferguson] and Paul Maurice came in and presented to the board what they wanted to do over the next year," Peddie said. "John's contract did not come up. He is under contract for another year. He is not going any where." Peddie said the board was only interested in at Wednesday's meeting was Ferguson's plan for developing young talent and acquiring new players through trades and free agency. "It was a private meeting, so it really makes no sense to say any more than that," Peddie said.

dave-O
Now if they can just lock up Antropov for 5 or 6 years, the dynamic duo can stay together forever!
Kanada Kev
I've been wishing for them to unload Antropov for a couple of years now. He's gotta go while he's still worth 'something' somewhere else.Sundin will be signed again I'm sure. He's the guy they will be utilizing to try to convince other players to come to the Leafs. Sad. JFJ is a fucknut.Back to placing commercials for the Sens game on Saturday night

Whitey
I agree he is whining, but if the guy tests positive in February, why is he still playing in April?
AD
that part is bang on whitey - why isn't the player out on his ass after a drug infraction? something has to change in the NHLPA if they let dopers continue playing. it tarnishes everyone and protects a cheater!but JF Jr. saying the leafs would have made the playoffs if that one player for another team was dealt with different is pathetic.
