Bluesfest 2008

I'm starting to get excited about the lineup announcement and trying desperately to forget how much the lawnchairs piss me off.

So I thought we could list all the rumoured and confirmed acts here and get a jump on the official announcement (when does that happen this year?).

So far we know of:

James Taylor

Manx/Breit

Zappa Plays Zappa

Anything else been confirmed here or there?

I wonder if Steely Dan playing Montreal Jazz Fest suggests that they'll be booked?

Steve Earle is confirmed according to The Sun

I'd bet good money on Tom Petty being here for Bluesfest

Would love to see Clapton here

Although Eric Clapton will not be embarking on a full World Tour in 2008, he and his band will be on the road during the summer

Also I'd bet on the Hip

Tony D

God' date=' I wish for once this wouldn't be true.[/quote']

I just don't understand this mentality. It's a Bluesfest and we have an internationally recognised blues player in town, why shouldn't he be a standard.

Not to mention he's a hell of a player.

I will say that I wish money would be better spent than hiring fucking Blue Rodeo again.

If I was to guess I'd say it's not about his ability, it's just his lack of stage presence. But he's been a supporter of the fest for years and has earned his place in the lineup each time.

Did anyone go see Tony's Hendrix cover show thing last weekend?
