  1. I would have WAY preferred to go to the local show...but the fact that was announced months later meant that I had already committed financially and to a friend for Toronto...shakes fist.
  2. What do you guys think of the Americana album? Finally got my hands on it and to my surprise I'm a bit torn. I love the version of Gallows Pole, I like the Travellin on and Wayfarin Stranger...but a few of the tracks I find... pretty excruciating (e.g. Tom Dula...I cringe at the b-a-n-j-o on my knee in old Susannah, etc) Kudos to Neil for doing whatever the eff he wants...but not sure how well the Crazy Horse sound (which I am a fan of) translates for some of these tried and true folk songs. Still lookin' forward to Toronto and haven't heard anything off Psychedelic Pill...not sure if that has even been released yet...
  3. Must say I am personally super bummed to not be continuing the Fatties Halloween tradition this year. It was probably one of my favourite annual shows of the year. But it was nice to see someone else was thinking about it too so thanks for that larry_llama
  4. I'd be lying if I said I was thrilled about the venue change. I guess the numbers are everything... I just hope the sound is alright at the Opera House. I've heard it hit and miss.
  5. Oh damn...a life well lived indeed.
  6. Indeed! Happy birthday Kev. Been a bit since we crossed paths...hopefully again someday soon
  7. Lovin the picture of you and your boy KK! By the way kooky, you still in the business of tuning up pianos? Do you move them as well or know someone who does?
  8. "Jerry" is now Jeff Mattson formerly of the Zen Tricksters. I was, and still am a bit tentative about that change, given when the Tricksters played at Come Together many years ago I was underwhelmed. But I thought he sounded good at All Good.
  9. Hmmm maybe its about time I saw these guys again. Been a long, looong time comin'...well worth the wait?
  10. Absolutely. Was just trying to focus on what I think the plusses of this show will be which would hopefully entice some fence sitters and translate into more numbers. I'm personally thrilled with many of the acts that Danforth has been bringing in lately and it would be real nice if these bands felt it was worth coming back again. Numbers, vibe, reception and all
  11. Very true. And unfortunate. But something tells me it'll be a warm and enthusiastic crowd that wants to groove... Numbers aren't everything.
  12. Ha! Ba dump ching. I always have a great time at their shows. I'm in for sure. Rob Barraco infectiously smiling and dancing along those keys is worth the price of admission for me alone.
  13. Here I thought you were looking to get drunk or buff. I'm no help at all...
  14. The few tunes I've heard were really nice. I wasn't particularly a fan in the past, or terribly familiar but lately he's caught my attention.
  15. Jesus! No wonder the poor chap has sour grapes.
  16. Yeah...damn...that's what i thought
  17. I wish I had been able to be at this one. Any reviews?
