I've had dengue fever before (which is like malaria). Hope I don't get it again, 'cuz the second time you get it there's a 40-60% mortality rate. Pesky mosquitoes. meggo Posted January 12, 2005 Report Share Posted January 12, 2005 don't eat malaria pills unless you HAVE to. when i went to costa rica i was taking malaria pills for the first two weeks and they made me feel all barfy for about 2 days after, it was a real pain, and since i wasn't in the depths of the jungle i just quit takin'em. and look at me, i'm a-o-k! heheh..
