Esau
[color:red]Watching/Listening "Lucky for us there were cameras to capture the Funky Meters' unforgettable show at the 2000 New Orleans Jazz & Heritage Festival! Widely considered to be the founding fathers of funk, The Meters spent the 60's and 70's perfecting their unique musical blend, which incorporates blues and dance grooves with a NOLA vibe. Re-named the Funky Meters in 1994, the band continues their tradition of fusing their individual styles into a distinct sound that wins new fans with each performance."Art Neville - keyboards George Porter Jr - bass Brian Stoltz - guitar Russell Batiste Jr - drums Songs Performed: Two Funky Minutes Of Your Time People Say Chug A Lug Africa Cissy Strut Saturday Night Fish Fry They All Ask For You Look-Ka Py Py 7 Desires Little Old Money Maker Ain't No Use http://www.homegrownmusic.net/fumky

bradm
John Coltrane - One Down, On Up: Live At The Half NoteThis is a new two-CD* set of performances recorded at the Half Note club in NYC in 1965 (one in March, one in May). The title track has been circulated before, but in amateur/bootleg versions; this is the first offical release of this material, and it's heavy. It could be considered "transitional" material, between the "classic" Coltrane quartet's music and the later more "out" Coltrane music.I also got it cheap, about $15 at HMV in Toronto over Christmas. If you're a fan of Coltrane, you need this recording.Aloha,Brad* Each CD is just over 40 minutes, though.
