5 Disc Rotation (back to school edition)

Yes, as the summer officially closes and I go back to work, it's time to check in with y'all with my favorite thread. 5 DISC ROTATION. For me it's more top 5 in the car now as the commute begins anew but I digress.

The Weakerthans - Reconstruction Site -don't expect Left and Leaving (a masterpiece!) but it's so focused and cool - Try "A Plea from a Cat named Virtue" for a cat's eye view of his master's break-up

Kings of Leon - Youth and Young Manhood - Stonesy, southern fried jump-up and down tunes

Nero - Soon - I love that extra bounce in Mikomard!

Ween - Quebec - don't neglect those final tracks. I start the disc at 11.

Phish - 7.23.03 - Set 1 - Super Sized Scents and Subtle Sounds (MUCH better than the one I saw in Maine)

Honourable mentions to the Big Lebowski soundtrack and Van Morrison's Astral Weeks

GO!GO!GO!

Scottie: FYI, Kings Of Leon are playing Lee's Palace on September 8th, with Jet opening up. I'm all over this show.

Here's my five:

Quebec - Ween

Greendale - Neil Young & Crazy Horse

Decoration Day - Drive By Truckers

Jeff - Jeff Beck

Unclassified - Robert Randolph

Two more:

Soul Serenade - Derek Trucks Band

Welcome To The Infant Freebase - The Soundtrack Of Our Lives

2. Supertramp: Breakfast in America

3. The Dregs

4. Joni Mitchell: Court and Spark

Which Dregs album? I checked

http://www.stevemorse.com/disco/dregs.html

and while there were albums listed as by The Dregs (as The Dixie Dregs became known), there wasn't an album called "The Dregs".

My list:

  1. OM Trio / Global Positioning Record
  2. Xavier Rudd / Live At The Grid, B.C. Canada
  3. Lynch / Studio Roughs & Live Cuts
  4. Project Object / 2001.06.20
  5. Tungsten Gruvsten / Hinge Pin
  6. Tungsten Gruvsten / Square Yardage Of Stock Footage
  7. Tungsten Gruvsten / Cornerstore Stonercore

Special thanks to TG (who brought a CD spindle tagged "For Others" to moe.down, and let us rifle through it for whatever we wanted) for letting me get my grimy paws on the last four.

Aloha,

Brad

I'm listening to this right now, and it's got Jim and Al from moe. on it! What are the odds of getting a random non-moe. show at moe.down, and having it have two moe. members on it?

Dancing happily,

Brad

I'm not sure (I'm not sure I even saw that one). I've got "Square Yardage..." on right now, and, after listening to "Cornerstore Stonercore" and "Hinge Pin", I'm kicking myself in the metaphor phor not picking up any of the others (wasn't there one titled "Two Minute" something or other? I passed it up because I figured it was all two-minute tracks of something...dopey me).

Anybody know any way to get some Tungsten spun at Babylon before nero/BQ?

Aloha,

Brad
