ollie
Fucking shocked! I was just reading this week's RS article about the Hall of Fame ceremony, and how he couldn't make it, but there was no indication that he was that close to death. Fucking sucks!!! The Chameleon
Real shame. He did reveal he was diagnosed with Cancer 3 years ago, guess treatment didn't go so well. Cancer seems to be getting more and more of us. All the more reason to eat right, stop smoking and excessive. R.I.P.

edger
Cancer seems to be getting more and more of us. All the more reason to eat right, stop smoking and excessive.I appreciate all that and they definitely play a role, but there's a whole lot of environmental factors, consumer products, contaminants everywhere impacting us inter-generationally that are a part of a system that runs far deeper than individual lifestyle choices. Many, MANY "healthy" people still get cancer, and all kinds of other nasty neurological, cardiovascular, reproductive and behavioural diseases and illnesses. AD
"I didn't want to record the cliché tribute song, over soft piano and violins. The Beastie Boys weren't that group. I can't help but think of how much MCA would have hated the Coldplay tribute. The old MCA would have pegged Chris Martin with a full can of Budweiser. Apologies to Coldplay fans, but if you're pre-"Intergalactic" Beastie fans, you know I'm right."
thatpatguy
this is a fantastic tribute mix. It's full of B-sides, rarities, and interviews.. and some classics as wellhttp://soundcloud.com/coffee-break-radio/coffee-break-for-heroes-
