  1. No, we had a salad.
  2. Ya Hoooo! Happy Birthday Marvelous Mary. Rock it.
  3. Oh okay, I'll protect your masculinity. I won't tell anyone about your tears or the sweet things you said to Abbey after the movie. Your secret is safe with me babe.
  4. Absolutely heartbreaking news. Sorry for your loss Sean.
  5. I feel the need to protect you all from what I had to go through last night. The pain I endured can be prevented so I urge you, please, do not watch Marley and Me. Seriously, it's not a tear jerker. It's an all out body shaking, sobbing, nose running, 10 tissue, steady stream of tears running down your neck and onto your chest kind of movie. Why anyone would subject themselves to that kind of feeling on purpose is beyond my comprehension. Just a public service announcement.
  6. Awww, congrats Stu. Lily is such a perfect name. Enjoy every moment.
  7. I know that the 3 big Minto buildings downtown (Carlisle, Minto Place and the Hotel) all participated. From a commercial building point of view, you are obligated to have power in common areas due to health and safety issues but they participated by using only reserve or emergency power. That would mean that hallways and stairways were minimally lit. Office buildings should do this every night IMO.
  8. Wonderful. I'm sure we'll be there.
  9. Once the lights were off we didn't really see any reason to turn them back on for the remainder of the night. It's nice to see that Earth hour prompted not only some energy consumption but some jamming! That's exactly what happened in our house to.

    Scallops

Mike and I invented this little ditty. Omitting the bacon would still be good because there's a lot of flavour in the cheese. Plus, because you assemble them separately you can have bacon on yours and she doesn't have to (Highly recommended method ) Seared Scallops on Crustini with Bacon and Herbed Goat-cheese 4 or 8 Bacon strips (depending on presentation, more bacon=more fun) 8 Sea Scallops (sliced into 2 horizontally) 1 crusty baguette Herbed Goat cheese (make your own with garlic and fresh herbs or buy one premade such as Rondelé) 1 garlic clove salt and pepper to taste olive oil Slice baguette on angle to create long and thin (1/4 inch) angled slices from the baguette. The slices will be much crispier if they are thin. Brush each with Olive oil and broil in the oven, watching closely as they will turn from crusty to burnt in seconds. Remove from oven and allow to cool. Rub each with garlic clove and then spread herbed goat cheese as thick as you like. Heat skillet on medium heat and fry bacon until desired crispness. Remove to paper towel for greasy soak-up and reserve the bacon fat in the pan. Add scallops to the hot pan, season with salt and pepper and sautee each side for about 1 1/2 minutes. Scallops cook fast. Lay 3-4 scallop pieces on top of goat cheese. Place 1 to 2 strips of bacon on top and serve.
  14. Yeah, yeah. try it. Mama wants deep fried ANYTHING!
  15. Have a wonderful day Matt. Hope things start pointing in the other direction (except of course, for the things that are pointing just fine).
  16. Happy birthday Dave. Hope you're havin' beers.
  17. Oh that would have been so great if Bob Wiseman pulled that off. Brillant idea.
  18. I'm in the pack as well and have a request. Booche, can you please move over? Your balls are in my way.
  19. Happy birthday stranger. I hope you get spoiled.
  20. Oh there is, and because I love you Davey Boy I'll also add that I licked and sucked it off of something 6 inches long. Now that's really all you need to know.
  21. Awww that was so sweet Dinghy. I didn't know you were such a romantic.
  22. I thought so to Jaimoe. It was hilarious to see how different the new boss' perception of Jim was and how uncomfortable it made him since he's not used to being treated like the office fool.
