  1. I don't care who wins tonight, I just hope Stephen Stills doesn't sing the anthem again.
  2. I saw Ozomatli on Austin City Limits a couple of years ago and I thought they were awesome. Very funky, very interesting music. You Toronto folks should be all over this raffle.
  3. The Chateau Montebello is definitely still standing. I don't recall hearing anything about a fire.
  4. I'm not a big fan of the scheduling: the long layoff, early start times out west, conflicts with a concert, and the possibility of not being over until June 11th. Will the NHL's micro-management attract a huge quantity of new viewers in the U.S.? I doubt it.
  5. One of my friends keeps calling Scotiabank Place and Capital Tickets for answers. He keeps asking for Roger Waters tickets will be accepted for admission to game 4. They no longer find this question amusing.
  6. Deepest sympathies Mr. Slippery. I am going to be in the same boat soon. A friend of mine has bladder cancer which apparently is treatable, but the cancer has moved to his lungs and the doctors have told him that it's terminal, and it's a matter of months now. He may not even make it to his 41st birthday.
  7. Things that make you go "hmmm": That article states that Petro Canada is the "biggest company in Canada" with 1500 stations. (I'm assuming that they mean biggest gas retailer) However some quick googling showed me that Imperial Oil is this country's largest gas retailer with 3100 stations. Also, there's a huge error in the writer's logic in the sending the article to 10 people each, saying it will reach 30 million people. What if some people send it to the same people as others? Thirdly, the article talks about litres but all of the sudden switches to gallons when talking about the country's consumption. Leads me to believe that the writer pulled the numbers out of his ass. Hey, maybe I should work for snopes!
  8. I don't know about that Booche, the majority of people were wearing Sens schwag. It's beyond me how anyone can wear a hockey jersey in 31 degree Celsius heat. There was one striking difference between the Sens rally and the Bluesfest: no lawnchairs!
  9. Roger Waters show will be re-scheduled or cancelled.
  10. that is an IDIOTIC thing to say...... Mickey is absolutely retarded...or drunk. ::Waiting patiently for Mickey's "Lick my balls" post::
  11. Congratulations and all the best! Funny, any birth anouncement I've seen lately from friends and acquaintances - it always seems the baby is born at like 4 a.m.
  12. Sounds like fun! I'm jealous of you guys. Wish they'd play closer to home sometime. I'm probably the oldest existing Bisco fan.
  13. I've decided that I'm totally cheering for the Ducks against Detroit. Not because I think the Sens will have an easier time against them, but because I'll be going to a Roger Waters concert on June 4th. If there's an away game against the Ducks that night, It won't start until 10 or 11pm, therefore I won't miss much of the game while I'm at the concert.
  14. Hey Kev, out of curiousity how are the ratings on the CBC for the Sens games? I heard they're not that great.
  15. Woohoo! We're going to the finals baby!
  16. No they should fly her and her friends to his bar in the Barbados!
  17. All I have coming up is: Roger Waters June 4th Ottawa Bluesfest - I'll probably be there every night - July 5th - 15th. Allmans, Ratdog, and Keller in Camden NJ - Aug 17th Rush - Sept 21st So far it looks like a lean summer for me, compared to what I did last year. But it's still early and I'm sure other shows will be announced.
  18. Here's a followup story on that Sabres fan that was punched in the head. This whole thing is sick and the guy who did this should be charged to the full extent. You have to treat visitors to your city with respect. I'd expect no less if I was going to see the Sens play in a different city.
  19. That tumbleweed never gets old Booche! A good turnout of people from Buffalo at the game last night. I was talking to some of them who were planning to drive back immediately after the game! Of course, there was a lot of trash talk between the Sens and Sabres fans in my area, but at the end of the game we were shaking hands. "See you at game 6" one of them said. "I hope not!" was my reply.
  20. I prefer tap water over bottled water. David Suzuki agrees.
