  4. So... I'm just going to assume then that it's true. No wonder hux doesn't post in here anymore...
  5. Fuck that shit. Lets get our economies in order before we even think about merging currency. The USA being a liability has got to be the understatement of the century.
  6. US: You light up my life/Debbie Boone UK + Aus: Mull of Kintyre - Girls' School/Wings
  7. V-fest was fun... but not fun enough that I didn't dump my 2nd day pass on a scalper when I left after the first night. There was good entertainment. MIA was fun, and Kid Koala cut his set short when his records started to melt on stage. Bjork played a very good set, but it certainly didn't have the buzz and the crowd appreciation that I experienced when I saw her a couple years ago in Montreal. The RoterTable was really cool to watch, and try to guess what sounds it was making/manipulating. Great to see the SoulJazz there, but it was sureal to be in a bar that you couldn't get drinks at... both at 2:30, when the ticket line for refreshments was already about 500m long, and moving SLOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOW... and at 10:00 for their final set of the day, when the bar had been closed for over an hour and a half. The organization was Gestapo like... needing to check your bag all over the place, and having no real official place to do it didn't make me feel too comfortable... And the place stank of one giant commercial. The staff was about as slutty as your ever going to find at a music Festival... Bacardi Girls, Bud Girls, and not one but two Naked news outlets reporting from the site. Considering the festival had a 4 star line up... the overall experience makes me have to down grade that to 3 or 2 and 1/2 stars. Toronto crowds suck... they seem to be sleeping.
  8. Go Packers! What a defensive line!
  9. Wow! What a nice day to hang out in the park! Drink beer... and see Bjork! Hope to see some of you out there! ... it's nice to have Bjork warm up the crowd for SoulJazz!!...

  12. Thanks Schwa! I enjoyed reading your review. I sat in a chair when I read it.

  15. John Tory is a dink. And so is Mcguinty. Good luck over the next decade Ontario.
  16. Wow... after reading that... Emery is a dink... I hope he apologizes. I hate it when people drive like he allegedly did.
  17. We're lucky if posters last a couple of hours on Queen street. The Annex is a little more tollerable... you might get 10 of 100 left 3 or 4 days after you put em up. Once in a while you'll find one or two out of a couple thousand up in a month or two. It's an absolutley brutal industry! Oh yeah, and AD... 6 weeks is a great start to promote a small show. It give people enough time to consider it, tell their friends, and if one has really wanted to go, but hasn't made it before, it usually far enough in advance the date could be clear for them to make it! 8 weeks... maybe overkill... but 4 weeks, then all of a sudden so-and-so is busy, and buddy doesn't tell their friends about 'that band you HAVE to see', and then you get twosies walking up to the door instead of groupies.
  18. Me too! I wasn't too excited seeing that message!
  19. Yeah, if I ever need anything... that's where I go. I've found that I've got all I can handle right now, and I haven't been in a long time. It was pretty great getting on there in the time of Grokster, and Napster, and Limewire though. Alot quicker and lots of hidden gems available on Soulseek.
  20. I got a program called "Switch" which works great to get anything into anything. It's pretty new, and chuggs through the songs, which makes me think it's doing a real thorough job of changing the files from one to the other. Switch Converter
  21. Good for you YATS... There seems to be a small exodus from Toronto going on. I won't be far behind!
