MarcO
Funny how you can own an album for months and then one day sit down and hear it for what seems like the first, most mind-blowing time: No 5-disc rotation for me, this is the album I've been stuck on as of late. Wow. ::

TheGoodRev
Man, half my list is already on here. That's wild.1) Rich Robinson - Paper [saw him when he came through Toronto at the end of last year, show was awesome, album may be better. Vocals are a little weak but songwriting makes up for it big time.]2 and 3) North Mississippi Allstars - 2003-10-01 Lee's Palace, Toronto [My first NMA show, and I was hooked. After a year and a half of solid fandom, seeing them twice more, and collecting almost a hundred boots, this one is still my favourite. Progressive Deadhead blues at its finest.]4) Joel Plaskett Emergency - Down at the Khyber [No explanation necessary, stunning record. My latest obsession is the pedal steel swell in the chorus of Unconditional Love]5) Grateful Dead - American Beauty [Was in Toronto for the weekend and had to make a quick trip back the Hammer, and then turn around and come back. It was on the shelf so I grabbed it, and became the soundtrack to the drive there and back. Nice to revisit the old discs I haven't listened to front-to-back in a while.]
dave-O
Creaking Tree String Quartet - Side Two (very disappointing purchase) Really? That's too bad. What don't you like about it? I haven't heard the album, but I've heard a few tracks on the radio that sounded great. It's really quite bland, sounds like a poor-man's Zubot & Dawson to me. I may have set my expectations too high though.
