There is usually a method to Ollies posts. It's the madness that drives me insane.

That is possibly the cleverest thing I've ever read.

Downtown is a fucking warzone right now.

[edit:] On second thought fucking strangers can compromise your health. Kids, don't do drugs. Stay in school. Take your vitamins. Etc.. etc..

Fun game to watch on Saturday night. Lots of drama, lots of physical play (both sides this time), lots of action.

Lots of crappy goals out of the 8 scored. That's typical of a grinding game though. The goalies were back to their mediocre selves .

Pronger deserves the game suspension due to his repeat offender status. However, I do find it completely bizarre that on the 2 incidents surrounding him in the playoffs that he was never called for a penalty. What the fuck does that say about the refs? On that hit, i think that the biggest bang came from his head hitting the ice. The camera angle with him "waking up" was weird. You could read his lips saying he didn't know where he was!!! Kinda scary. Good to see he was up and "ok" after and not hauled out on a stretcher.

Alfie's goal? Well, I thought it was legit. He did not kick it in. He DID redirect it, and that's fine. Too bad that same goal didn't count for Crosby back in round one :P

Talk about making Game 4 that much more interesting!!!! Holy shit is a lot on the line. Pronger's suspension in the last round really inspired the Ducks to rise to the occasion. Will the Sens be able to ride their wave from Game 3?

There was the funniest shot of the crowd before the puck dropped on Saturday night. They were panning the crowd. Sea of red. Looked really cool. Then, right in the middle, is a dude wearing a blue hockey sweater in the middle of that sea of red ... yup, the guy is wearing his Leafs sweater!!! :D :D :D ... he's got balls. I was laughing hard and rewinding the PVR a bunch of times :)

Looking forward to a great game tomorrow night.

This is how the officating works now: They miss big obvious call... the refs get the call/signal from upstairs/"The war room in Toronto", and they make it up with smaller calls for wussy infractions like hooking. Looks like the 4 straight 3rd period penalties for the Ducks may of been influence by Prongers antics.

So looks like I might not watch the game tonight.

Buffalo Game 5- Me at Come Together. Close it out

Stanley Cup - Me at Boat Cruise. Actually win!?!

Me picking up the G-friend at the Subway... Ottawa scores: 1-0 against the Ducks

Me in the washroom - Saprykin Scores game winner.

I consider it a gift to the team... I figure instead I'll just meditate and try to get my chakra's in order.

I've been reading the Ducks' blog since the series started - there are some funny posts. I'm not sure if the author is deliberately tongue-in-cheek on occasion or he's actually serious. Either way it's funny.

I've copied and pasted the funniest bits most of the blog to date.

The PA announcer uses both French and English and when he introduces Ray Emery during the starting lineups, he elongates to name so much it takes him 10 seconds to say it, complete with an echo sound effect.

During the Canadian anthem, fans in the upper level pass around a giant Canadian flag and the singer (who inexplicably is dressed like a train conductor) lets the crowd alone sing the third verse. Truly incredible.

The excitement of Game 3 started with the ride over to Scotiabank Place. The Ducks departed from a team hotel teaming with about 100 autograph seekers and well-wishers, a hotel getting ready to host both a wedding and a graduation for 150 nurses.

Then a police escort guided the two team busses (one for the team and one for assorted Ducks staff) on the 20-minute drive to the arena. The half dozen motorcyle cops instituted frequent traffic breaks to the cars that dared occupy the highway at the same time as the Ducks. Several fans in Senators gear lined the roads, some waving, some giving thumbs-up, some choosing to salute with a different finger. One guy evened mooned us (sorry, no photo).

If you're ever in Ottawa, avoid ordering any wraps when you go out to eat. I'm 0-2 on wraps in this town. I guess it's just not something they do well in Canada.

One thing you have to realize about Ottawa is that a large portion of the population speaks French. So, many menus and other printed items are in both French and English. And the same goes for half the channels on the hotel TV. You haven't lived until you've watched The Simpsons dubbed over into French. The person doing Bart's voice is spot on.

Then you switch the channel and see a version of Sportscenter doing a report on the Stanley Cup Final that sounds like this: "French, French, French, French, Teemu Selanne, French, French, French, Ducks, French, French, French, Daniel Alfredsson.

As I look at the date above, it's hard to believe that it's now June and we're still playing hockey. These playoffs started April 11.

Alright, back to business. The Ducks arrived at Scotiabank Place at around 12:30 p.m. local time and will hit the ice in about an hour for practice.

Scotiabank Place is a very nice arena (especially compared to the opponents' facility in the last round) that is actually located in the former city of Kanata (pronounced something like Kuh-NAT-uh). Kanata was merged into Ottawa in 2000. The arena was formerly called The Palladium when it opened Jan. 15, 1996 with a Bryan Adams concert. The Sens first played there two days later. It was renamed the Corel Center a month later and its current name was launched in January of 2006. The arena holds 19,153 for hockey.

And this just in, Ottawa is a beautiful city. The ride from the hotel to the arena featured an endless combination of soaring green trees, grassy hills and waterways. And a quick trip through the downtown area last night revealed a thriving nightlife, with several bars and restaurants (many decked out with "Go Sens Go" signs and team flags).

Scotiabank Place, meanwhile, is really in the middle of nowhere. The only thing surrounding the massive arena is an auto mall.

AD,

Thanks for the link to that blog. Those comments don't seem too bad. At least they are complimentary of the beauty of the city, quality of the arena, and how well Bart is dubbed into French :)

There are some fun pictures in the blog as well. I wonder if it was one of these guys that I saw in the middle of the crowd on TV on Saturday?

A major majority of the fans in the building wear Sens jerseys and a lot less wear Ducks jerseys. Then there are these two guys.

And hey, if you want to catch the Ducks on their way to Kanata today, be on the lookout for this bus!!!

Kanata ... don't tell me this town ain't got no heart

if anyone who works in gatineau feels like driving down laurier near the best western and honking horns or whatever, i'm sure there are a few players who could use an interuption from their afternoon naps today......

Here in Canada, we eat our sandwiches on real bread.

How is the poutine in California? Not very good I suspect.

You know what? If you go to Germany, the menus and TV shows are in German!

Emphasis mine. That made me laugh. Several! Wowee.

That dude in the blue leafs jersey is a looker. I'm just saying. Probably doesn't play well in a sports forum.

One more thing about Canadian cuisine. The ketchup here isn't so great. It's too sweet. I don't know why. It's regular old Heinz ketchup, but it's very different from the States.
