Just relax, don't worry so much, have faith.(from my tall and mellow guru)

And this too shall pass.(somewhere in the bible)

True friends help to build you up, not hold you down.(Betty Smith, in a roundabout way)

Have your own convictions and let others have theirs.(the most demonstrative teacher; experience)

The point of life is to create something beautiful.

(that one came to me in a dream, as ridiculous as that sounds)

Wow, thanks for the kind words Mike and Dave!

Here are a few that have mattered a lot over the years:

"Remember yesterday, dream of tomorrow, live for today."

"If you can't decide what to do, flip a coin."

"Drive safely."

"Follow your gut instinct."

"Be kind."

"There's more to life than money."

Peace, Mark

"Everything that exists in time, runs out of time some day"

~~ Bruce Cockburn

(this has always helped me in those bleak moments when the world ain't making much sense, or offering much to feel hopeful about. Pretty twisted, I know, to imagine everything ending, but it certainly puts one's own petty problems into the grander-universe-perspective.......where, personally, I LOVE the implied answer to Douglas Adams' question: "Does it really matter, cosmically speaking, if I don't get up and go to work this morning?

and who hasn't been able to use:

"It was like that when I got here"

~~ Homer J. Simpson
